There are alot of formal and informal groups of people around the villages and I have heard of people who have participated in a Seance. As a non-believer, I was expecting the levitation and wind blowing of curtins but I hear this is not the case. Some people have had really good experiences.......This is NOT the expectation that requires an additional $100 to find out what happens next.
So have you gone to a SEANCE ...and if so what have your experiences been with this para-normal phenomenon been??? If you have not gone WOULD YOU????

Every three months or so we get some mail inviting us to call to have our "fortunes" read. This is a group of mediums somewhere on the west coast. Perhaps I would respond if the mail was not addressed to my husband and his late wife! I actually sent them a letter back telling them that I would have much more confidence in them if they "knew" that the woman they were sending this to is no longer in this world! (of course, they "knew" that would be my response!")
All kidding aside, I must relate an experience.....this took place in 2000, shortly after my hubby's step father passed. Medium John Edward was coming to San Diego and I thought my Mom in law might enjoy being at his lecture. One very remarkable event had taken place after Dad's death so she was receptive to the invitation. Hubby faithfully drove us to San Diego and even joined us. John was doing his thing and of course all were impressed. We three were sitting way off to the side of the room with very few people. Suddenly John headed in our direction stating he was "hearing" from someone who had died in a particular manner...an airplane crash. He kept walking towards us. Mom wasn't paying as much attention to what he was saying, the evening was drawing to a close and she was getting tired, but I immediately realized who was being talked about....her second husband. First husband also died in a plane crash, but it was her second husband that was coming through. I made sure she wasn't giving any visible "signs" of surprise that one could pick up on, nor hubby or myself. He went on and suddenly she heard what was being said. It was kind of amazing really. Lest you think I'm not skeptical, do know I am....recognizing that more often than not, general questions aren't very specific and those being "read" will often supply information unwittingly. In this case, she didn't. He was specific as to who was on the plane, what type of flight, how things happened, etc. Needless to say, I was smiling and chuckling afterwards. Took Mom about 2 days to get that dropped jaw back in place.... ;)
It's not exactly a seance, but it was an experience with the dearly departed.

Pooh, My girlfriends and I had the same experience. We went to a "Celebrate Your Life" retreat and one of the main speakers was James Van Praagh. He called my girlfriend out and talked about her parents. Even though she doesn't look old enough to have lost both of her parents I was still not convinced. Until.... He talked to her about her two dead brothers and how one committed suicide. Something very few people knew. He also told her something was wrong in the throat area and to see a doctor. She did and found out she had throat cancer. Whoa...
Very interesting, Angie. It kind of takes your breath away doesn't it! Glad your friend got the medical situation taken care of. Hopefully all is well....seems she's suffered enough with the loss of so many loved ones.
I have a cyberfriend that runs a grief message board and she also is a grief recovery specialist and conducts seminars. Also with her is her friend who is a medium. Years ago, she lectured in The Villages and Mom in law and I attended the event. After my friend discussed "signs" that deceased loved ones might offer to make their presence known, our friend, the medium, offered some short readings. I was lucky to have a mini reading....and "heard" from my Mom who had only recently passed.
The ladies joined us at our house for dinner that night. We had a great time. It was nice to meet them both in person, I've been a cyberpal for years and years with the grief counselor and still am. She's a wonderful woman, warm, caring, compassionate, understanding and of great faith. I love her to pieces. It was also very nice to meet our medium, a very warm and loving woman.
We laughed, dined, took pictures, enjoyed ourselves, even hubby had a great time.
Oh yes, Christine Marie used to be a guest on James Van Praagh's web events. Not sure if she still does this.
