I've used Cal's in Lake Sumter Landing since I came in 2005. I've never settled on a specific person, but currently like Bill's work.
I've always been a walk-in. Never waited more than 15 minutes; often have no wait at all.
Suppose that I ought to admit to not being picky! When I'm close to having to tie a pony tail, then I go!

First, let me welcome you to TOTV. It is a good site for info and many nice people post here.
I go to Cal's at Sumter Landing, but as my hair line recedes, I'm thinking of going to a less expensive place.

Finding a good men's barber in TV, or anywhere, is a real crap shoot.
Lately, I have been going to Sue in Belleview Regional Shopping Plaza, 352-547-7041. She does straight razor back of the neck hair removal and sideburn trim like the old time barbers.
I'm still lookin for a men's shoe shop with the xray machine to see how your feet fit in the new shoes.

Chuck, I recently saw one of those old shoe fitting x-ray machines on that History Channel restoration show. I had never seen one before. I wonder how many people would have put their feet in that contraption if they knew then what they know today about radiation? The restoration guys replaced the x-ray source with a light bulb if I remember correctly.

Both my wife and I liked Cal's in Colony Plaza! They had several barbers there, both male and female.

I also use Cals in Colony Plaza! Also I'm not picky...#1 buzz on sides & back...#2 buzz on top..Hard to screw up that cut....

I use Al in Cal’s Barber Shop on Legrande Blvd. in the historic section across from the Post Office.
He’ll do whitewalls around the ears with a straight edge if you want it.

I agree with Cal's. I go to Charlie.
Female barbers? Just can't bring myself to it.
Old-fashioned I guess. Maybe just plain old.

Cals in Lake Sumter Landing. I always have Bill cut my hair. That said I'd like to find a barber shop like I use to have in S. Fla. Only men barbers and they used a straight razor to trim around the edges with hot lather. Also they had better magazines to read while waiting.
If anyone knows where there is a real old fashion barber shop, let me know.

That is funny. I cannot bring myself to let a man cut my hair. Must bring back bad memories of my childhood. IMHO women are better barbers (or stylists, if you must).

When we moved here five years ago Sweetie would go out for a haircut and come back with a Geezer cut. I don't know if it is the chip implant they give you when you get the ID card, the water here or good barbers. He is lookin' younger every day.
OH...and no longer comes back with geezer cuts.
He goes someplace different every time. He always has.

Have you been there lately. I believe Jerry used to have the first chair by the door. If that's him we're speaking of, he has relocated to AZ.
