Sarcasm won't help the problem. I like several of the folks running for president. My concern is do we want to see a new president or a second term with Pres Obama?
Bachmann and Perry are both very very bad for the party just as Palin was last time. Wake up folks. Read any Liberal Blog and they all say the same thing and they are all very upbeat right now just because Bachmann and Perry are two of the front runners. Liberals know just as I do that with them for opposition, you have 4 more years of Obama.
Please don't turn me into the scape goat, rather spend your energy trying to get a Christie or a Rubio to run and get this country turned around. Defending the Mentally inept is the act of a hero, but in this case, it could very well destroy America. I say now that Bachmann and Perry are great and proud Americans, but don't have a snow balls chance in ^^^^ of winning the presidency, but are in perfect position to put it in the laps of liberals.
Follow this logic:
Loud mouth liberals sound off every chance they get.
Loud mouth Conservatives sound off every chance they get.
The majority of Americans are closer to the center and stay quite. When these majority folks talk to a loud mouth, they lean in the direction of the loud mouths opinion just to avoid a conflict. Has anyone on here taken a psychology 101 course.
Also, keep in mind that you have Hard right voters that support pro-choice. You have hard left voters that support a balanced budget. We need a president that will do the best for the majority of us and not a die on the sword from either party. Remember that Pro-Choice is the law at this time and if you want it changed, DO NOT have a Pro-Life fanatic be your pick for the GOP because he/she will never win. That is so clear to me.
I sincerely believe the above and lets just for a moment accept my belief:
If you don't have a candidate that can speak to the majority of Americans, then you don't have someone that can win.

Very well said. Some of the extreme right posters here are so strident that they lose their credibility. Sometimes I think they are impressed with their own "cleverness" and word play. I can just see them going "oooooohhhhhh, this will get someone mad.." The truth is, nothing you say will make the least bit of difference to any of them. They seem to think like Bush....once you make up your mind, no amount of new information or facts will penetrate. And yes, I have taken many many psychology courses. Identification with the aggressor is fairly common...so is cognitive dissonance reduction.....

...and yet we have comments left by some such as "I would vote for Charlie Sheen before Obama."
This is helping the Republican cause?

Or how about Richard Cohen, left-wing icon columnist, in today's newspaper about Rick Perry, "It's not his thinking I fear, It's his lack of any at all."
How profound, sounds like something heard at a children's playground. Please, he goes on and on about tired old left-wing talking points like WMD and global warming. He avoids talking about Obama's war in Libya and the estimated 30,000 civilians killed in a war that he said would last days, not weeks and which is over 5 months old now?

You say that lie over and over again until it sticks? Palin did not lose the election no more then gaffe- a -minute Biden won it for Obama.
There are many explanations that do stick on why Obama won. White guilt and 96% of the black vote are just two of them.

I do agree with the premise of this thread.
I am tired of reading how dumb this candidate is, or what crazy things this one said, or anything to ridicule. THAT ALSO goes for criticisms of Obama.
Why cant anyone talk about issues any longer. Obama is the President..he has to live with his record...one of lies, failures, etc. Those who want that job need to convince the voters they will do better ON THE ISSUES.
Those who are on here now making a case against the saracasm are, in fact, the authors of sarcasm toward any and all candidates for this office...she is a woman...she is too religious....she says dumb things....he is dumb, etc and etc. Nobody says that about Obama and I am glad...that is how it should be, but lets stop with being ok with sarcasm and personal attacks on one side and not the other. I oppose President Obama on most issues very strongly but would never attack him personally, and if you do, count on at least the race card coming at you.
I recognize that those who aspire to this office need to get press time first and become recognizable, but making fun of every candidate is just plain narrow minded and stupid. Lets stop cherry picking these folks on each and every sound bite you can find. Lets begin to discuss their stand on the issues facing the country..how they feel they can help with unemployment, the economy in general, the constant and increasing unrest in the middle east, etc.
Lets judge Obama on his record, what he has done, what he has failed to do, etc. Lets judge anyone running for that office on how he/she stands on issues and how they might do it better.

I would say that this statement pretty well excludes the current President from consideration.
