Read history. What happened to the "Brown Shirts" of Nazi Germany? Could it start in this country, yes, will it succeed, no. Why, it started a couple generations to soon. To many vets are still around that fought for this country and still believe in the Constitution.

"Facts" represented by a decidedly "left wing" organization are suspect in themselves. I can present facts from a decidedly "right wing" organization. Will you change your mind because you read them? hmmmmmm.

The Annenberg Foundation is closely associated with radical arsonist and "former" home grown terrorist Bill Ayers (Obama's friend by the way).

If this was Dick Cheney proposing this, the liberal socialist would be foaming at the mouth and marching in the streets.

They are all a bunch of hypocrites. I would have a problem if ANY politician proposed this, but they would only have a problem if a non-liberal proposed it.

Did you bother to read the article? I did. This is basically a medical organization that has a military structure - related to the reason why the top doctor in the country is called the Surgeon GENERAL. They *do* work alongside the military on projects but strictly for medical procedures. The "Ready Reserve" would be akin to a "National guard" of medical professionals that could be called upon to help during natural disasters like Katrina.

Another website rated this as "Pants On Fire" it was so false. If you actually READ the documents that the guy on Fox references (and most people don't) they have NOTHING to do with what we would think of as a 'private army'. (They were commenting on Victoria Jackson's comments which basically repeated the claims made by the guy on Fox News).

Oh, but if it on the enternet then it has to be true. Just like I won the Canadan Lotto last week. All I need to do is send them $250.00 processing fee and I will get millions of Canadan Dollars. Believe me the check IS NOT in the mail.

The Half Lie is one of the best propaganda techniques that has ever been used. FOX Noise is excellent at that. To prove it, look at the number of uber-conservatives who did not go any further than to look at a short clip and they become full time believers.

WOW...deep stuff this is. How many of those folks you call "uber conservatives" did not go any further ?

Other than DJPLONG...I count SIX posts on this thread that I suppose you have classified as "uber conservatives"......that is obviously an overwhelming number to deal with.

Lets keep that term "half lies" in mind as we post here from now on....I like that and may be quoting you !

You'll have to pardon me, DJ, if I don't believe a word of the spin from the Obama Administration and the left-wing Annenberg supported site "Politifact". If this was a benign and laudable support organization the Administration would be holding it out for the world to see and even putting a picture frame around it to show everybody what a great thing this is, thereby shining a light on the greatness that is Barack Hussein Obama.

But, in fact, the 2 pages authorizing this "private civilian army" was buried in 2700+ pages of the never read but voted into law ObamaCare Bill. It was not discussed, not disclosed (another example of Obama's "transparency" he pledged), and is only now seeing the light of day; of course on Fox News because the left wing media has declared this a non-story.

First the private government security force known as the TSA, and now this. Do you really like where all this is going? Let's not be naive.

So, by the same token, if someone says it's on Fox News, it HAS to be true?

When the claims buy the guy on Fox were checked, they were found to be wild misinterpretations. If I wanted to be charitable, I could imagine how the guy could have easily made such a misinterpretation based on some of the text in that very thick document.

But then you get a 'celebrity' like Victoria Jackson repeating the misinterpretation as if it were gospel.

Well, when a democratic congress passes a bill that is thousands of pages and no one has read it, there could be all kinds of hidden or misunderstood provisions.

Remember Pelosi saying that we have to pass the bill so we could see what is in it. Hope and Change and a new transparency. My goodness!!!!!

Oh I know - it was definitely a sleeping pill on paper.

But when someone makes a claim and it is debunked, continuing to assert that claim is, basically, lying. It's like Jennifer McCarthy and her anti-vaccination crusade (based on a single study of only *16* kids that was proven to be completely fraudulent). It doesn't do someone's position any favors to base their opposition on myth. There are a lot more substantive things you can base an opposition to Obama's bill on (like it being corporate welfare for health insurance companies).

Blah blah blah. People have opinions that are different than yours. You have yours and I have mine. Is that what gets you conservatives riled up? The fact people don't live the way you want just because you said so? What an elitist attitude. Please inform us as to how YOU are a better American or human than the rest of us. Don't hate bro because I chose not to drink the kool-aid.

What does my post count have to do with my opinion? Do you have to post a certain number of times before YOU present someone with their very own opinion? One approved by you and tailored to your beliefs? I'll have to pass on that non-refreshing beverage as well. :bigbow:

Yes I did. I asked how the idea of a far right-wing god army is so insulting or "out there", yet the thought of a communist liberal muslim army is perfectly sane? What do you do all day? Do you sit around all day in fear that a homeless man is going to steal your stuff, a black man is going to mug you, a gay man is going to rape you, and cry because you think all Hispanics are here illegally and gonna get what's yours? What a very small cold world you must live in. I will have to pass on that as well.

I could never be a right-winger. There are waaaayyyyy to many joys in this life to discover to spend all my time hating and thinking of ways to hate those you hate even more. Wow.

Do I have enough posts now to have my very own adult opinion?!?!?!

Thank you but far far from true.

I am just very upset at how these folks who NEVER will talk about issues and simply want to call names have tried to, maybe succeeded, in taking over this forum.

There was always strong talk on here but people gave opinions on which you could debate.

You cannot debate the constant and never ending calling people and groups names...threads involving people who are not even in politics..makng fun of people because of beliefs, whether religious or not.

Perhaps those people who are opting out because of the recent behavior have it right...maybe these folks had that as their goal...I dont know, but how you can spend your time simply assailing other people without sharing even one inteligent thought on issues is well beyond me. I have started a number of threads this week on international issues and I suspect that most dont bother to even read them.

I used to always say how much I learn on this forum.....right now the only thing to be learned on here is how to disrespect others, new ways to try to humiliate those you disagree with....again, the forum has become a playground for a few....

They get booted and come back to do the same thing....never met such disrespectful nasty people....I know you are not known, but what you type on here does in fact give clues to your character or lack thereof

And it is not on one side, lest somebody believe that, but the recent group of folks who come here are just plain not nice people and anyone who wishes can forward this on to the administrator....he should already be aware.

I fought as an over reaction when they made this a subscribe area but they were right....nobody should have to be confronted with such slanderous remarks as grace these pages on a daily basis.

I sure have been guilty of going over the top at times.....but not on anywhere near as a regular basis as these folks. Their intent on coming on here is CONFRONTATION, not discussion !

I just looked at the video about the civilian army and I cant beleive that this mane is still in office. I see what he is trying to do and that is to have his own army seeing as he cant use our military for his oun purposes. This is nothing more than a take over of all rights we ever thought we had. If the rep. or even if the dems. help to get his passed or dont stop him they should all go to h--- . I wish there was a way to move election date up. Right now for the most part I will say that anyone under 30 really doesnt have a clue what is going on. Downright amazing that FOX Noise can get people so worked up over their lies. I remember a great class I took called "Propaganda and Public Opinion". It told of classic propaganda techniques. There seems to be very little civil or coherent discourse from the left these days, and I see that as a very good thing. Because the left has not a coherent argument to provide. It's all geared to just the attempted destruction of their opponent.

Tells me I have little to worry about in November 2012.

As for all the "ignore mania" happening on this forum; I won't be joining that trend. I don't fear the rising insanity of the left, but take comfort in it. The adults will prevail on this forum and in the coming elections.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I don't know and don't care about any drama that is/was here before I came along. I most likely won't be giving a crap about any future drama either. I left 6th grade a good time ago.

If anyone thinks I have been here before or whatever is certainly allowed to do so. You will be wrong. I came here roughly a month or so ago after being redirected for a restaurant review on Yelp!.

I find it funny that someone posts something so typical far-right loony about Obama, yet when someone posts a differing opinion the rabid dogs jump in for the kill. Anyone liberal, progressive, educated, and with half a brain knows how the odds stack against them on this forum. That kool-aid is powerful stuff!

Hey fella, why do I have to "have a problem? I know this is shocking, but not everyone believes like you do about stuff. It's been happening and will continue happening. Get over it! You got over women wearing pants and guys with long hair. You will be ok. I mean, did you expect this board to go like afternoon tea at grandma's house? When has it ever when it comes to politics? Maybe back when our politicians actually CARED about Americans.

Anyway, I'm just voicing my opinion like everyone else. We are still able to do that right? I haven't been keeping up-to-date on what the conservatives were denying people this week.

Vile? LOL.

I think PolitiFact is spinning a lie for political purposes.

Just to clarify...

I can understand if your opinion is that Politifact is partisan. In *my* opinion, they've done enough digs at Obama to maintain credibility with me.

What I'm a little unclear on is the stuff that Politifact quoted. They went to the actual pages of the bill to explain EXACTLY where the guy on Fox News (who was subsequently quoted by Victoria Jackson) got his facts wrong.

I mean, yes, there are people out there that if they told me the sky was blue, I'd look up. But the fact that Politifact can call Obama on his broken promises tells me that they're not into hyperpartisanship.

Are you saying you don't believe the text of the bill that clearly describes the Ready Reserve for what it is (and it's as much a private army as is the Salvation Army) - or that you don't believe Politifact is pointing people at the actual bill?

Once a "civilian army" is in place by law, the purview of that army can be changed at a future date. We don't need this and the creation of such a force in the first place, and history warns us to reject this idea. Common sense and a view to the past (think Europe) must prevail here.

Richie,

you are absolutely right (no pun intended). You have nothing to worry about in the elections of 2012. The Democrats will prevail with President Obama again and we do not have to worry that the USA will go back to the days of Bush and Cheney.

2 out of 3 Americans think the failing economy is Obama's fault. (liberal channel ABC by the way). You think this portends a rosy Democrat future?

Not only are more the blacks disapproving Obama, women are seeing the light,

too.

But Gallup polling last week showed that only 41 percent of women now say they approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president. That is an all-time low--down from the previous low of 43 percent,

Didn't the presidents job go further back than Bush/Chaney?
Seems like too many can only remember that far though.
Y'all certainly would not be intimating that all was right (no pun intended) prior to Bush/Chaney.
The new talking points out recently have "congress" as the enemy....some must not have gotten the memo. Even Obama recognizes the Bush/Chaney thing is old and lame....hence his new target....congress...comprised of bot R and D.

Similar theme though...it is always somebody else's fault/problem/blame but his!!

You really have a handle on the cliche racist verbiage. Do you really believe that using racist language bolsters your position?

Why don't you use that language when you speak to the people over at the Black Entertainment Network who posted a story on Obama's plunging support among his black voter base? I'm sure they'll think you're hilarious.

Richie,

You may say that Obama's polling numbers are going low to African-American voters. It doesn't matter if they think Obama is not the greatest. There is NO WAY the mainstream African-American bloc is going to vote for a Reactionary Republican like Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, or Marco Rubio if they are anywhere on the ticket. Still going to have around 90% going for Obama. Toss in most college students and voters under 30, too. Most Hispanic voters will do the same thing, too. You know that the Democrat political machine is going out to get these voters to the voting booths and, yes, President Obama is going to be re-elected.

I predict lots of people who voted for Obama last election will not return to the polls because of a widespread Obama support malaise as this country goes deeper and deeper into the Obama doldrums.

Independents will gravitate toward a more business friendly candidate.

In addition, lots of people who did not vote in that election will vote, and not for Obama, because they'll have to take that chance at another opportunity for a better future.

You've made your position well known, and so have I. We have a long time to wait to see who's correct. I still have a feeling in the end it'll be me grinning and you with the hang dog expression. Cheers!!

It is going to be very interesting to see who the Republicans finally do put on their ticket.
