Just used Patrick Daugherty, Paramount Plumbing & Gas, Inc., 330-7233, for repairing our hot water heater. He was on time, thorough, and reasonable.

We originally went to a box store, they said to replace T&P valve, but realized after getting home that I wasn't skilled enough to do the job. Looked at older threads here on TOTV and found Patrick's name and phone #, called and talked to him and he indicated right away what the problem most likely was. He replaced the expansion tank, T&P valve, and spent a good deal of time with the igniter. We're very satisfied with his work.

Most electric hot water heaters have two thermostats, one near the top of the tank and one near the bottom, and are covered by removable metal cover plates. The thermostats are pressed firmly against the bare metal wall of the hot water heaters tank.
