Charles Krauthammer in an interview with Mike Wallace on Fox News (OMG!) in speaking about the upcoming speech by President Obama said that the Republicans have a good slogan if they refer to the President as "President Zero". Zero economic expansion, zero jobs and zero ideas on how to grow the economy.

Mr. Krauthammer thinks the President's coming "jobs" speech is nothing more than an attempt to propose some ideas he knows the Republicans won't get behind, and then he will later blame Republican's for rejecting "all his good ideas" for political gain.

President Zero??...........hmmmmm. Has a ring to it; no?

I think the premise is right on. I just hope the Republican come up with some forward thinking and doable solutions themselves.

The government cannot create jobs..it does not work that way, in my opinion.

We had a stimulus bill (one which was actually nothing but built up pork and in my opinion, strike one for this President who said he would NEVER sign such a bill) and that did not work or do anything.

Blame Bush seems to be the mantra and he has his part in our woes, but not the last two years or so, one year being wasted on the health bill !

It is complicated at best.....regulations need to be changed.....make it easy to grow and get out of the way.

That stimulus bill was half tax cuts so you can't say it was all pork.

Sure - ease up on SOME regulations - but let's not encourage another Bank Meltdown, shall we?

But this "President Zero" is a slogan doomed to failure. Bush's performance WAS worse and there HAVE been jobs created during the Obama administration (the 'net' of zero was only for August). If they try to stick with that, one could easily counter it with "You're just being partisan - and the numbers will back it up".

Unfortunately, for the GOP, there isn't anything that really rolls off the tongue as a slogan for "This recovery is weaker than all the others".

The only jobs increases were for federal jobs and some teachers. Nothing that really contributes yo a recovery. Until small businesses start hiring again, we will be stuck in this Depression.

Your so right, any slogan can easly be converted to indicate mud slinging and there we go again.

The Republicans could also add zero amounts left in retirees savings accounts. Soon I will need food stamps but that is a good thing because Obama gives people on food stamps a cell phone with free minutes. What a country
