I am new to The Villages, been there once for a quick visit and coming back for Thanksgiving to get a better feel. I get to visit my sweet husband in Miami in a few weeks.
I need some restaurant suggestions for a few nights while I am there! Maybe outside dining, something special!

Thanks in advance!

Your post is very confusing Are you in the Villages now?. Are you coming to the Villages for Thanksgiving? Do you live outside the Villages right now? Can't quite figure out your whereabouts and whether you visiting Miami or the Villages for Thanksgiving. In any case, if it's Miami you are going to---be very sure you brush up on your Spanish.

I like Joe's Stone Crab:bigbow:

Another vote for Joe's Stone Crab in Miami - it's unique and stone crabs are available in November

South Beach is interesting, but maybe not romantic if you know what I mean, and certainly not quiet. Restaurants change hands often both in Miami and on Miami Beach. Whoo hoo and sometimes blinders for nudity in South Beach, blush, however, the galleries and shops are very interesting. I'd be apt to suggest you try something on the water in Coconut Grove. Do a search of restaurants in the Grove and see what you can find with great ratings. Also,
some of the biggest art fairs occur at this time and both Miami, the Grove, and Lauderdale get very busy. If you are up for a ride to the Fort Lauderdale area, check restaurants on Las Olas Blvd., or, The Sea Watch in Lauderdale By the Sea is great beachside dining. The larger restaurants generally take reservations only for Thanksgiving...it can get crowded in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale restaurants for Thx. For a longer trip, my favorite is Mangione's in Boca Raton, almost in the Boca Mall, especially on nights with their piano bar. Great Spanish/Cuban food in some of the Coral Gables restaurants...and some neat dining options there along with shopping boutiques. Have fun...oops, for a minute I'm homesick!

So sorry. You are right! I am living in TN at the moment. We visited TV last week and drank the Koolade! My husband is a pilot and training for 6 weeks in Miami. I am lucky enough to get to visit him soon and needed some suggestions on some places to go.

I hope soon I will be asking you all for more info on living in TV. But in the meantime I will just live vicariously through all of you and dream about where we might live one day!!

Ocean Drive on South Beach is a unique experience that you should enjoy at least once in a lifetime. Get an outside table, preferably on the front of the restaurant and enjoy people watching over a leisurely dinner and proper watch. The food at most of the restaurants is excellent. You should be ready to slip the maitre-dee a health tip to get what you want.

Joe's Stone crab is great, but not on the drive. Be certain to enjoy the rest of the art deco district. If you want to see an alternate to how we live go to the Fort Lauderdale yacht show, October 27-31, 2011. Not too far both of where you are is Palm Beach. Visit the Flagler mansion and enjoy dinner either on Worth Ave or at The Breakers.

IMHO, all of these belong on your 'bucket list'. Enjoy, there is more to see and do in the Miami/Palm Breach area than you could fit into a year!
