We are having a hard time finding NICE and affordable Patio furniture. We aren't finding as many choices as usual at Lowes and Home Depot. Penneys in Ocala was disappointing and the smaller, not chain places around TV that sell it are REALLY expensive. We are hoping to get two chairs and two ottomans, a love seat and coffee table for about $1500, a little more, a little less. This year the ones we are sitting on in that range don't have comfortable cushions. They are either too hard or too squishy and you feel like there isn't much you are sitting on. I would like the cushions to shed rain too.
In the Daily Sun there is a place in Orlando advertised that is supposed to manufacture it called Palm Casual.
I really don't want to go all the way down there and be disappointed. Has anyone been there...and did they think it was a good place to find a nice patio set for an affordable price??
Any input would be appreciated.

Gracie, have you tried Sam's Club? Our Sam's here at home is having clearance sales and stuff like the Broyhill Outdoor Collection is on sale. Maybe you can find something there. Also Sears might still have clearance stuff.
Try Pier One or Dockside, Gracie. Neighbors have stuff from Dockside, others have pieces from Pier One. I went looking for one patio rocker. Visited a few places around town and really couldn't afford to pay $1000 for one chair. It was going indoors, in front room office. Got a nice rocker, cushion, too from Pier One. Home Depot and Lowes aren't showing as much right now, but they do have catalogs you can look at, I believe.
A friend bought her patio furniture at Palm Casual, I believe it was. They drove down to the Orlando store and then up to the Jacksonville store to get all they wanted. I have no idea how expensive/inexpensive the items were.

There wasn't anything in our Sams Club here in Lady Lake. Online there was a great looking group called Toronto...something and we were going to order it and....they are sold out.
At Sears in Ocala...not much there either to see.

Gracie, I've been to Palm Casual and was **very** disappointed. The stuff that was nice was as expensive if not more than the non-chains closer to TV. And then they had a few of the cheap pieces that weren't as nice as Loews / Home Depot.
Now I've got to say our visit to Palm Casual was 2 yrs ago, so maybe things have changed. I've just had no desire to go back.
Good luck.

It is a price shock. We put off for over two years getting the "right" set of outdoor furniture. It's hard to believe it costs more than indoor furniture! Finally, we went to Palm Casual and found them great to work with, so we ordered it.
Now, I look at it and it's really very nice but not indoor nice and it cost a whole lot. I think I'd wait to see what comes out next spring at Lowe's/Home Depot.

Do they still carry the Martha Stewart outdoor furniture at Home Depot?
We bought it 5 years ago and still holding up great, cushions are water proof.

My friend who has very nice taste has her patio completely furnished with the Martha Stewart collection from Home Depot.
It was a dark brown all weather woven frame with a rusty red colored cushion.
She had tables and a storage box, all from the same grouping.

Good morning Gracie! My husband and I went down to Palm Casual in July. They have a large selection of patio furniture, deliver free to The Villages, however, we found them to be expensive. Try Sam's Club on line. They had some good buys. Good luck and let us know if you find any bargains!

We went to palm casual in Orlando 2 wks ago. They seem to have two lines of furniture. One was reasonably priced pieces made from PVC piping with many fabric choices for the seating and the other line was very nice, fairly expensive "high end" pieces. I didn't like the look of the PVC (although hubby liked the comfort) so we are still looking.

Once again, I would suggest Craigslist. Watch it daily and you may find a nice set that is like new, but just did not fit in the buyers space. When you look, look for sale by buyer only. That filters out the dealers. You might look once at the items the dealers are selling, but after that, I have found it is the same time after time.

I thought I saw an advertisement in the Daily Sun last week regarding an outside furniture outlet being close to the villages off of the Fla Turnpike...I forgot to keep the paper...did anyone else see it or have they gone to it???
It made it sound that it was not in Orlando but close to home....
thanks!

Palm Casual do have lovely patio/lanai furniture. We bought our poolside furniture from them when we had a home in Kissimmee.
They also have a depot a few miles down the interstate, just past (?) Lakeridge winery, cant remember which turnoff, sorry.

I completely lucked out and bought a set I saw for sale on TOTV. We got a gorgeous round glass table and four sling chairs for $150....brand new from a model home that the new owner did not want. I looked up the manufacturer and ONE chair was around $400. So don't give up....it took me 5 months to find a good deal.

hi there! There is a place in Gainesville that is an overstock warehouse of name brands open by appointment or when they have sales on a weekend, I think once a month. They have a sale this weekend, Thursday Fri Sat. But you might want to call and see about outdoor furniture. web is GainesvilleDiscountFurniture.com

I actually ordered my lanai furniture from afar....without seeing it......at Target.com. I was pleasantly surprised to see the end result. It was much nicer than pictured online.....and good quality as well. I would recommend trying Target.com. I ordered my sunroom furniture in my "up north" home from Home Depot......and I'm happy with that furniture. Both Target.com and Home Depot were not over-priced...........but both had to be assembled. Do I hear SOMEONE swearing?????? :cus:

We purchased our indoor furniture from Showcase Furniture or was it the other one??? It was one of the two in The Villages. They had great furniture at good prices!
From what I can tell, I wouldn't get in any big hurry to buy EVERYTHING at once. There seems to be a lot of places to buy furniture and accessories in the area!

We purchased all our furniture from either Southern Lifestyles or its 'sister' store Showcase Direct. After shopping around they seem to have the best prices. Quality too. They deliver in two days and the staff is very professional, put the furniture together, wipe everything down, and give care instructions. Villagers get a 5% discount and after the furniture is delivered they give you a $25.00 coupon (must spend $150.00) for a future purchase.
Very happy with purchases!

Ahhhh good point...
I also forgot to mention..... They have floor plans of the homes in TV and will place the furniture on the floorplan so you can see how it fits in your home. (I made a change when I felt something was going to overwhelm the room.)
On the day before we close, they will bring the furniture in and set it up according to my instructions, so that the day we close, all we have to do is make the bed and we are good to go!

We followed the recommendations of several of you and ordered Lily Bay from Home Depot online. Apparently Home Depot has the manufacturer drop ship this and it was a little rocky. We ordered it the end of September and finally got the last piece about ten days ago. BUT I think it is just lovely and just fits our homes style perfectly. I will try to post a picture of it.

I was just thinking about where to purchase outdoor furniture and was reading all of your suggestions. I was blown away by the price of outdoor furniture! When we were in TV last, we went to a place down by Bed, Bath and Beyond in some plaza near SS. I think it was patio and fireplace or something like that. We found a set we loved with the dining set and conversation set all matching but the price was astronomical! My husband says we are only buying these sets once so we'll pay the price but I'm in the mind set that this may be too much to spend. In your opinion, is the furniture at Home Depot, Lowes and other chain places as durable as that of a specialty store? I could furnish 2-3 rooms of my house for the price of this outdoor furniture. Seems to be too much. Durability and comfort are important.

We looked far and wide for furniture for our large lanai... Found that somehow, most furniture had tan or brownish upholstery/cushions... For Florida? No way. Finally we went to Coral' Casual/best Buy Mall. Loved the selection, including the special order choices . We paid more, but our lanai, decorated in shades of blue, looks fabulous and it is the favored meeting place for family and friends.... And the dog.

Palm Casual has a store in Winter Garden I think. They had a store near us in south Orlando on Orange Blossom Trail. They have nice furniture. Not sure about the prices in comparison. They make their own PVC pool furniture and you pick out your seat colors and fabrics.

Worth the trip. We met the owner and his wife. Got a fair deal on what we could afford. Warranty Service is outstanding, And if you do not like your product even after free delivery they will take it back or swap out the cushions if you made a wrong decision etc.
We put a deposit down they locked in our price and will deliver when we move in.

Hi Kathy, we take the "back way" - right on Canal Street @ 466A, to left on 301 to the turnpike (left entrance) - exit 272 - make a right - you will see the bldg on the right. It takes us about 45 minutes from our home in Sabal Chase.

We bought this same set last month and love it. It cost $899 plus tax. You do have to assemble and you will need to have a pickup truck or trailer to pick it up unless you order online and get free delivery. We rented a trailer from Uhaul as renting a truck from Home Depot in Lady Lake was a JOKE. We haven't moved to our new home yet so we are storing in the garage of our rental CYV. I bought the side tables at Lowes called Key Largo for $99. They have glass tops and are nesting style. We had these tables back in Virginia for over 2 years and they held up very nice as they were outside the whole time and not protected except for winter. Didn't like Palm Coast. The furniture was too big for my taste and too expensive. We will be buying an all weather bistro set form the Patio Place on 441 once we move to our new home. They have free delivery to The Villages. Good luck on your hunt!
