I know there have been quite a few threads about gardening in the Villages. I did read that the only community garden is for giving grown produce to the local community food banks.

Has anyone thought of proposing the idea of a community garden so that Villagers who want to garden for themselves have a place to do it? I confess that I have no idea how to go about proposing that idea to the Morse Family and company but aren't there other proposals that have been made and adopted? Regarding places for visiting grand kids? Why not a proposal for a community garden?

Maybe this would be a good one to propose. I am not currently in the Villages just a serious wanna be/gonna be. Just whack me upside the head with a stupid stick if this is off base.

A lot of communities do this. I'm not a gardner... but someone else may be interested.

No need to apologize in advance for suggesting this. It's a great idea and one I think is good for preserving green space. Surely there are a few acres here and there that somebody could develop into gardening co-ops. There are many organic grower co-ops in FL.
