I was picking up plants at the Central Florida Nursery on 441A this afternoon and was telling the gal at the Counter I had read about the terrible auto accident and ensuling explosion on the Racetrack road nearby.
It seems the gentleman seriously injured and being operated on today, was
pulled from his car/truck by a Village Resident who was a passerby and
good samaratin.
Apparently the fellow who was hit is a mechanic for many of the large nurseries, and thus the information traveled quickly through the nursery
industry. As I understand it one of our Villagers stopped...and it sounds
as though their was flamable material involved with explosions occuring. ,
and our 'hero' ran directly to this gentleman and with some effort, was
able to remove him from the car/truck to safety for EMS transport. The nursery gal told me thatall of the nurseries in the area are chipping in to send and plant a large Palm to our Village hero's home. His name is not known to the nursery.
Just wanted to say that stopping and getting this victim out of the car
was both a dangerous and heroic act, and a far as the nursery manager...
and her own colleagues and other nursery employees of nursery's in the area, a selfless act of heroism it is believed. The gentleman pulled from the wreckage was in surgery at the time I happened to stop by and all were awaiting news .
Just wanted to say, "Thank you Villager Good Samaritan", whomever
you might be. The nursery employees told me the victim, who was hit
by another vehicle, was unable to get out of his vehicle, and it was a particularly dangerous situation with flamable explosions occuring, and,
only this Village resident driving innocently along stopped and took immediate action to save this gentleman's life and getting him out of the
car.
Wow, makes me feel very proud of this anonymous Villager. Hope he gets a really big Palm! and... understands how much the wholesale nursery businesses along 441A and nearby are so grateful for his swift action.
And, want to send my thanks to this unknown 'neighbor' for his apparent selfless and quick action in a critcal life saving moment. There are angels
among us. Hope the victim has an easy recovery...he is certainly a person
respected in the nursery business here, and I think (wink, wink) a whole
new feeling about err, elderly Villages residents. Guess we can still show
the younger set a thing or two about helping! I felt pretty 'puffed' up leaving the nursery and knowing how grateful so many employees were feeling.
