I watched the ceremony on CNN yesterday. What a remarkable, brave young man. And all this occurred when he was just 21 years of age! I sure hope that one day he can release the guilt he feels for not being able to save his four 'brothers'. I also hope that some day he will sleep soundly, free of nightmares. And let us all hope that all of our service men and women return home safely, soon.

Like what you said, but know that Wars will never go away as long as some can profit so much from them. My Son is a senior analyst in counter terrorism, and was activated two days after 9/11. I get the real news from him and this is never going to stop because of the money alone. The greedy do not care about our losses. God bless those that serve.

Here's the whole story from a prior piece in USA Today.

This is a story that humbles you to your core. The faith of this young man, and his unquenchable devotion to his friends and comrades, is a story that should be told over and over.

Defying the directions of his incompetent command, he did what he knew he "had" to do and raced over and over again into mortal danger to struggle to save lives, and succeeded in saving 36 of them from the savage ambush. He then abandons his humvee and, on foot, helps to drag away the bodies of four of his friends who did not survive the ambush.

Then, home and safe amongst us again, he worries about taking a phone call from the President to inform him of his medal honors while he's working at his job, and the President calls him later on his lunch hour.

America has a new and awesome hero.

I watched it live as well. What a remarkable young man. I was so impressed that he requested that everyone in his unit be recognized with him. Very moving and inspiring. Such courage...
