I was wondering if everyone wanted to share what their first thoughts were when they awoke for the first time in their new home in TV?
1. I have a lot of unpacking to do?
2. What do I need to do first?
3. I can't believe I'm here?
4. What party am I going to attend?
Number 3 for me! We had to wait a while for our belongings to arrive! It was exciting, it was frightening, it was an adventure and it was and is FUN!

5. Did our neighbors see us since we didn't have blinds?
6. Let's take a walk and see if we could talk to our neighbors.
7. Let's walk to the nearest Rec center to see what's there.
8. Since we needed to furnish everything, what would be the minimum
purchase necessary and to start with what.

9. "The air matress wasn't that bad."
10. Where can we get take-out?

I mostly remember thinking that I hope my neighbors wont think I'm a total idiot because I was walking around all day with a huge smile on my face!! But I also remember:
-a card table and chairs from walmart makes a perfectly acceptable dining room set for now.
-they sure give a good pour during happy hour at the squares
-people really are friendly....it's not just marketing

1. How did the movers fit 219 boxes inside this house?
2. Seriously? Did you just say your father and stepmother are coming to visit in 5 days?
3. What am I going to do with all of this stuff?
4. Is it too early to go to the square and get a stiff drink?

"How much work would we be doing (or need to be doing) if we hadn't bought this place 95% furnished?"

1. Buying a furnished model and turnkey was the best thing ever.
2. We don't need any of that stuff we have in the place up north.
3. Get that coffeemaker brewing so we can go out exploring on the golf cart!

I will let you know next month when I wake up on my new air mattress! I still can't believe I own a piece of paradise and haven't slept there yet!

1. Am I going to survive this humidity? (Thankfully, yes.)
2. Hope I have really nice neighbors? (Wonderful people.)
3. What did I do? (Still not sure but glad I did it.)
4. Let's go exploring and see if people will wave at us. (They did!)

Wonder if any of the newbies would consider posting a daily diary of events during the first month after they move in?

I will if I'm not too giddy.

Great Posh 08. I'm sure a lot of wannabes will follow every posting. Anyone else can join in with their own thread to see the variety of ways move in challenges are handled.

Considering that last night was the first time I have slept through the night in two months, I would have to say, thank God, I am finally home!
