We enjoy IHOP's breakfast, especially the Senior Sampler. We also like glazed donuts from Dunkin Donuts. We like them better in TV. Is that because the turnover is big? Sorry to hear about Johnny Rocket closing as I liked their milkshakes. Are there any Sonic fast foods around because their shakes are good though not their hot dogs. Subway is always good in Colony Plaza.

Any word what will replace Johnny Rockets? I like Panera's myself if that qualifies for fast food chain. But I can't wait to try Brooklyn Bagels.
5 weeks till we get to TV:a040:

Golden Corral has an excellent Sunday Brunch - omlettes made to order. Subway is always good. I would love to see a White Castle in TV.

.....your wish has come true...there is a Panera's where "The Veranda" used to be....right there at Lake Sumter Landing......AND yes the one in Spanish Springs is still going strong too..................Now for the Johnny Rockets location at LSL............well......ANY type of "Squat n Gobble" would be better than "that" Johnny Rockets.........

Never ate at Johnny Rockets because of all the bad reviews on TOTV. When did it close? I haven't been to TV since July and it was open then.

Johnny Rockets had the best location in LSL and should have been a major attraction and a BIG money maker. However, the management of Johnny Rockets in LSL did the best job they could of screwing up a good thing.
Nearly every time we went in there the place was nearly empty and you still had to wait 45 minutes for a burger.

:agree: Went in there last October while waiting to meet our realtor. Three customers, six wait staff and they were QUIETLY arguing over who was going to wait on us! We QUIETLY walked out the door! We were surprised to see them still there on our vist in July!

Culver's. By far my favorite fast food. They are not that far south tho.

I think for the Johnny Rockets space it should become a Hooters (I think this would actually be a good business draw for TV), with Irish pub decor and Irish pub food added to the menu, and a piano bar and dance floor added. It would have something for everyone.

Good to know that; so, altogether that would make it about as close as we can get in TV to the fun of being on a cruise ship; and with the plus of a good fish sandwich - sometimes hard to find on a cruise ship. I think we all have come up with a good plan; now just need someone to implement it.

some of CCL ships have great Fish N Chips, course road trips around Florida in search of the perfect grouper sandwich would be cool.

One of my favorite places is Tijuana Flats. Here where I live they have awesome service and the food is fresh tasting and delicious.
I think they would do very well in TV. I even wrote a letter to the company about looking into putting on e in Brownwood.

Johnny Rockets just changed hands again. It switched from a corporate location back to a franchise last month. So they won't be closing any time soon.

Maybe they can get their act together, if not, plenty of other choices.

I didn't realize that Jonny Rockets was on the s_it list. We are new to TV and ate there a couple of weeks ago. My wife said the fries were the best she had in the area. I had a decent salad, and the service was great. Maybe the new management has improved the place.

Johnny Rockets is not a place we frequent very often. However, we decided to try it out today for lunch and were very satisfied. Service was good and the manager even checked in on us. The $5 patty melt and fries were also good. There are a lot of choices in TV so we probably won't be a regular there but we will be back.

Well, it IS fast. ;) When you walk in, the food is there waiting for you. And the best part is that they have lots of healthy foods to choose from. :icon_hungry: It proves that fast-food doesn't have to be junk-food. But for those who like junk-food, they have some of that too.

5 Guys is so expensive however.
I love a good burger as much as anyone but to walk out paying $10 per person is really too much.

Yup, if I were in the mood for a steak, I would stay away as well. I would also stay away from most low-cost places - a good steak starts with a good piece of meat which is not cheap. However, for dishes more ameniable to buffet style food, I find them to be very good and a good buy.

Compared to some fast food places, a Five Guys burger IS more expensive. Compared to some sit-down restaurants, they're less - and to me, just as good. But versus a Mickey D's and places of that ilk, Five Guys isn't all THAT much more for what you get. And you can "drag it through the garden" for no extra charge - just about anything you'd want to add to a burger is on their list.
Sure, you'll spend close to $10/person if everyone gets a fry and a beverage. Two people can split a small fry, though, and have more than enough to go around - their serving size for fries is over the top!! :) But again, compared to what you get quantity and quality-wise versus other similar venues, Five Guys is a comparatively good value.
We always try to economize (and at least THINK like we're being somewhat health conscious - ha-ha!) by skipping the fries and getting cups for ice water to drink. Helps keep the cost down quite a bit!!
JMHO, however!!

A Five Guys burger with all the toppings you can handle is only $3.59 and they are very good. Plus their free peanuts are always fresh and all you can eat. Sounds like a pretty good bargain to me.

The first time we went to five guys we both ordered large fries :icon_hungry: HOLEY MOLEY we ended up with enough fries to feed ten people. Their hamburgers are the best of the fast food resturaunts in my opinion. By the way, Golden Corral is no place for steaks, but for a great brunch buffet it is about as good as there is. They fix omlettes to order on Sundays and the chef puts on a great show. :bigbow:
