With over 2500 posts you must realize by now that this happens fairly frequently? I have a lot less posts than you and I've realized it for some time now as well as having experienced it many times. Anyway, this is exactly what happened here; I never saw your post before posting mine!

When I read the posts this morning, I can see where my remarks could be taken exactly how you took them (except the encouraging others to attack you part).
