One story that many people don't really know is how hundreds of boats came out of nowhere, seemingly, and worked to get as many people as they could off of Manhattan, which is indeed an island.

My great friend CaptG, of this forum, emailed it to me and I decided it would be good for people to know this little known episode of 9/11.

It is how I got off the island that day after losing several friends, I still have dreams of people moving around like the mud people you see in documentaries, everyone covered with dust. It's not something that I think I could ever bear seeing or living through again. :sad:

I've watched hours and hours of coverage on 9/11, but I don't remember seeing anything covering this aspect of it. Very powerful and uplifting.
