View Full Version : 30 Signs That The U.S. Economy Is About To Go Into The Toilet

If you think the U.S. economy is bad now, just wait for a few months. Things are about to become absolutely nightmarish. None of the long-term economic trends that are hollowing out our economy have been addressed and more bad economic news seems to come out virtually every single day. Now there is constant talk of the "next recession" in the mainstream media. But did the last recession ever truly end? The number of good jobs continues to decline, more stores are closing, incomes continue to go down, credit card debt and student loan debt are soaring, the housing market resembles a corpse, the number of Americans living in poverty continues to rise and government debt is at unprecedented levels. We are losing blood fast, and almost all of our leaders are either too corrupt or too incompetent to be able to do anything about it. The U.S. economy really and truly is about to go into the toilet, and if something is not done very quickly we are going to experience a complete and total economic disaster in this nation.

Americans have been promised over and over that this economic downturn is just "temporary" and that things will return to normal soon. During this upcoming election cycle, the Democrats will swear that they have all the answers and that if we just elect them everything will be okay. The Republicans will also swear that they have all the answers and that if we just elect them everything will be okay.

Well, both sides are lying. The economic plans of both major political parties are a joke. Neither of them can restore economic prosperity to this nation.

Our politicians could delay the coming economic collapse by borrowing gigantic piles of money and pumping all of that cash into the economy. But stealing from our children and our grandchildren is not exactly sound economic policy.

For the rest of the article http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/30-signs-that-the-u-s-economy-is-about-to-go-into-the-toilet

I have no idea what we should do to work on this problem. Personally I believe that hard times are coming and there is nothing that we can do about it.

I couldn't find a reference as to the publisher of this article..Paints a doomsday picture..There are a lot of opinions, extreme and moderate, that paint completely different pictures...The main thing I got from it is Corp theft and rape of the middle class is universal! I think a very active justice dept., absolute enforcement of existing anti-trust laws along with real jail time for ceo s would bring this under control, along with the supreme court reversing their recent decision regarding "corporate rights".

I think things will turn around after the 2012 election when the republicans take over the Senate and the White House. Confidence in our economy will return when the Obamacare is repealed and businesses will lose the fear that this administration has spread though out the business community.

Isn't the enforcement of existing laws a prime issue for everything done these days...not just corporate America.

I disagree there in nothing that can be done. I continually refer to an initiative by the federal government to get America energy independent by _ _ ? _ _ will have a dramatic effect. Number one the very fact that it was iterated will change the dynamics that tend to rule the current energy sources.
In addition, building all the new drilling platforms, wells on land, new-efficient refineries, manufacturing of all the new devices/components/mechanisms/etc to generate/use energy more efficiently. The return on investment monetarily as well as the future of America will beat out any other actions (spending money) to date and or planned.

The opportunity to make this happen has been on the table since the energy crises of the 70's......with no progress...NONE what so ever. The only accomplishment is being more dependent today than we were 40 years ago.

Now why is that allowed to continue? It does not take an R or a D to resolve the non progress. It takes guts and initiative to turn down the oil producing countries (I don't care who they are) and those AMericans and politicians heavily invested in the status quo.

Like Kennedy stepped up to the podium and said here is what our objective in space is and how we will do it....that needs to be done on energy independence.

It is really not complicated. The hardest part is motivating the silent majority of Americans who are quite content with the status quo as long as it does not affect their life style. Well the life style is well on it's way to being affected...unfortunately things continue to rotate around and by minority/special interest/lobbyists/politicians.....and by comparison they are so very few in the overall scheme....same reasons sheep herd so easily!!!!

You are right...those dreams are the best laugh I had all day! Maybe all week. Didn't the shrub manage to take a surplus and put us in the hole?

This quote from btk is an excellent rebuttal to the drivel:

And my general observation would be, it is either a partisan direction/objective or a lacking of depth of subject and or the language to be able to communicate adequately....my opinion. Why else would one continue to hammer mind numbingly away with verbiage that adds absolutely no value?

One thing you can say about *******, is they have very vivid imagination.

Seeing as how Congress is now polling at 13.5% approval - the lowest EVER recorded - it is looking lke the Dems. will take back quite a few House seats, although perhaps not enough to take the House back, very very close. The Senate is safe for the Dems. - they will even win an additional 2-3 seats. The ****** from Mass. is dead meat.

Add to the fact that Obama BEATS EVERY R-candidate, the ******* are really in fantasy land.

As of 9/21, Obama beats Perry 50-41, he beats Bachmann 53-40, he beats Romney 46-44and he beats Palin 49-44

Eventually, the ******* have to put a name to "Generic Republican". It seems Mr./Ms. "Generic Republican" will not be running.

Somebody here is living in a DreamWorld.

We are in a Depression. We have the worst President since Jimmy Carter. We have the biggest unemployments figures since written history. I predict a new Republican President and a new republican senate. I also predict that republicans will pick up numerous seats in the house.

Money talks-Obama walks.

Once again its the TEA PARTY got that TEA PARTY. Be respectful and others will be respectful of you. Same as its not B. Hussen Obama, its President Obama Like or dislike the man, respect the office until such time as the current occupant is lawful removed. If you want to keep using disrepectful terms, I can use lots of them right back at you. Keep it respectful and this forum will return once again to a place where we can have civilized conversations about current problems that this nation is facing and not name calling childish tirads.
