I asked the same question to our sales agent and was told no... It's because of the
roof angle. I confirmed that with our builder too. We still went with the Whispering Pine and love it. We did the open kitchen option and really glad we did.

I think you're both right. Our TV agent advised us that the Cedar is the block version of the Whispering Pines. When we looked at them we found very small ways that they are not precisely identical, but comparing the floor plans we found them to be very, very similar. Just checked the pdf files online and that's still the case. Love them both. We'll be back right after Thanksgiving to decide what we're going to have built on our "Sanibel Sand Plot."

I believe if you check into this, you will find, the Cedar is poured concrete, the same as the Alamanda. We were at an open house yesterday in Tamirand Grove, and the agent on site was unaware of this, until she checked again. She did confirm it is pour concrete. Think both of these models are a great layout.

Good feedback. Sounds even better. We'll see how the house here in Texas sells; that will largely inform the decision on which model we choose (but I don't think we can go wrong either way - love the layout).
Thanks

Thanks everyone! I see TommyT is in Pennecamp, it may be that the Cedar was not a model TV was building back then. It is a very new model, I think.
One more question, I think I like the closed off kitchen offered in the WP. It is not shown as an option on the Cedar floor plan. Has anyone asked about this? I know I can ask an agent but seeing how we are not close to buying yet, I'd rather not.
I see the FP info does say "Poured In Place Concrete Construction". I had not caught that, thanks.

We've walked through the models of both the WP and the Cedar - I like the open kitchen FP and if we were to build the WP we would choose that option for the kitchen, but we'd prefer the Cedar - slightly different in size and we do like the concrete - closed kitchen isn't an option for the Cedar - another option that we've looked into for the WP, if that's how we go: shake siding (vinyl, but look like the cedar shake shingles) - the WP model on Journey in Sanibel has that - great curb appeal. Cost is much higher than siding, though.

We have the "shake" siding on our home in Il. and love it. It is about 4 times the cost ( matls and installation) of aluminum siding but looks much nicer and will outlast me.
