We are new to TV and looking for recommendations for a reasonable and honest auto shop to have some minor work done such as tire rotation and checking out a dashboard indicator light.

My "Brake" light is on occasionally which could easily be anything from just needing some brake fluid to something much more expensive, so I want to go to a shop that is trustworthy.

All suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have used Hilton's in Summerfield. They are not rock-bottom priced...but I have found them to be knowledgable & courteous. The two repairs they did for me, I did not have to go back for any adjustments.

We and a couple of neighbors have found The Tire Choice on Lagrande Blvd to give excellent service on the basics; oil changes, brakes, etc. They are new to the area and seem to really want to please. Mike May is the manager.

It could be something as simple as the parking brake being on a little bit. is it continuous? Does the pedal feel spongy? Does the car feel like it stops OK?

I don't know of any shops because I usually do my own repairs. I was a mechanic for 13 years of my first career.

Hi,

I've used 2 different shops. Boulevard Tire does great, reasonable work and the are close by in Lady Lake i.e. 466 to 441 make a right and they are not far down on the right. I have a Mini Cooper that is a little harder to get work done on but I found that Automaster in Leesburg specializes in foreign cars and the owner is British and adores Minis so they do great work at a very reasonable price. I've tried NAPA down by Stone Crest and wasn't impressed and the people at Goodyear by Home Depot were always too busy for me and tended to be rude.

Best of luck

Jim

Thanks to all for the suggested shops!

Regarding the parking brake question... the parking brake is not on (I check that each time). The light just comes on sometimes, and not others.

It will stay on for a while when it decides to light up. The brakes feel fine, and the car does not handle in any way out of the ordinary.

Meredith Auto Clinic on CR 25 across the street from the Blue Parrot and on the East side of the historic TV area.

Tri County Auto on 441 near Lowe's.
