Just announced at the Amazon tablet conference in NYC.

Kindle Fire for $199, Touch 3G for $149, Touch for $99 and Kindle for $79.

So did I for $99 which includes ads but I did save $40. I don't think the ads will bother me. I will also not be ordering a cover from Amazon as I'm waiting for a 3rd party cover that can be propped up.

I want the Fire now. I have a second generation and I have a feeling it is going to break down real soon...really soon. Like maybe in the next day or two and I will just have to get the Fire...

$50+ for a Kindle cover - outrageous!
Go to Fresh Market, buy something in the bulk food section (where they have candies, nuts, etc.) The plastic bags ziploc bags there are EXACTLY the right size for my Kindle.

I have a hard plastic cover for my 2nd generation that has a kick stand to prop it up and I also have a black plastic thingie with slots in it that holds the kindle in 3 different proped up angles. Got them both on Amazon...both under $15 each.
