While out for our nightly cart ride, we went over the Lake Sumter bridge and drove through a swarm of these tiny gnats, fruit flies, or whatevers! When we drove by the front of the new village, we ran into another swarm. On the return trip, the swarm on the bridge was absolutely overpowering. They were in our eyes, mouth, ears, hair, clothes, and had covered the windshield screen so badly, we stopped in town to bang them off. We had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago on the south side of 466A, although not as severe as tonight. Does anyone know what these things are, and is this a yearly occurrence?:shocked:

We usually refer to these pests as "blind mosquitoes" They usually hatch out in the late spring and early fall. I have found through the years that they also like things that are white. I live by a lake and my house gets swarmed at least twice a year. They don't bite or sting but are sure a pest.
