These forums are like a box of chocolates. I pass on the "nuts" and am drawn to the "soft centers". Caramels could "pull my teeth out" so I don't go for those. Choices are wonderful and we can all choose to read or NOT to read these posts. We can agree or disagree, realizing that we all have different opinions and feelings, not right or wrong, just different. There are lots of threads here that hold no interest for me so I do not read them. I don't always agree with what I read but I respect everyone's right to his or her own unique way of seeing this world. I have gained far more that I have lost by reading the threads that interest me. I have personally not met anyone who posts here but hope to at some point. Most contributors ARE people I would like to know. How fortunate we all are to have this resource of information. TOTV isn't for everyone. My Hubby would rather play FreeCell than to post on, or read forums!

I live vicariously through this forum. I hope that someday I live in the Villages. I also hope to meet many of the people that I have met on this site someday.
If there is another site it would have to be pretty damn good to beat this one.
Hope to retire in a couple of years and then start my down sizing to move to the Villages.
Thanks TOTV and the people on it.

Don't know of another one, but if there is one it will likely not come close to this one for information about The Villages, not to mention the quality or quantity of posters. There are occaisional bad manners exhibited as there is on any forum, but for the most part this is a pretty welcoming, comforting, fun and informatiive place to spend some time.

Don't know, Gracie. I checked the site out only briefly and it just didn't seem to offer much.

I also agree with Villagesflorida. Read the posts that interest you. Bypass the rest. TOTV has been a huge source of information, inspiration and humor for this TV wannabee.

I have met people who post here and hope to meet more in the future.
They are all helpful and nice to be around.

Topix has NO oversight! It can get very ugly and generally will have so many posters who have no idea of what the subject it about but just come on to upset the masses.

Wing-nut2,
I think I have figured out the problem. Many of our Wing-nuts hang out in the Political Discussion opt-in part of the forum. A little warning though - you'll have to fight the PAC6 for the use of your screen name. :1rotfl:
Welcome to TOTV Jim. Give it a chance and I'm sure you find it to be just not too... and maybe a little very..., but mostly just right ...
