This looks like good news for AT&T cell phone users

The Oct. 4 agenda of the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Board includes two requests from AT&T Mobility a request for zoning special exemption and a request for site plan approval for a 250 ft. communications tower.

I haven't read through all the documents but I see that the location is on property with an address of 9440 CR 121, Wildwood. It appears to be between 301 and CR 121, a little northeast of the Village of Buttonwood.

I have read messages on TOTV about AT&T adding one or two or three new towers. I have no idea which one this would be. Heck, AT&T isnt even my cell phone provider.

If you want to delve into the details, go to http://www.wildwood-fl.gov/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={9D971ADF-36FF-4598-B7AA-8F90493CDB3A} and read the document for the Oct. 4 meeting. It's a strange link - I hope it works for you.

Do cell towers carry other providers as well? Seems like most of them have a gazillion gadgets on them. Just curious. I use t-mobile and get decent signal in Pennecamp/Buttonwood

The fact that this new tower proposal is just now in the review process, etc. with the City of Wildwood makes me wonder about the quality/validity of the info various folks have been getting when calling AT&T about getting improved coverage. Seems that everyone has been getting different info, different dates, different numbers of new towers, etc. when they talk with different people at AT&T. I wonder if AT&T really DOES have anything that's on the verge of "going live" right now as many have been told?

Selfishly, I hope this new tower gets approved and brought online pronto!! By looking at the Agenda in the link that Champion6 provided, it appears the majority of property owners adjacent to where the tower would be located are opposed to it, though...........

Time will tell!!

Bill :)

When we got our Celltower, the gentleman I spoke to told me we were scheduled for two new towers. One in a couple of days and one in a couple of weeks.

Still waiting!

We have our celltower now so it doesn't matter.
