View Full Version : Where's the Parking?

After many drives past the now under construction Club Health and Rehabilitation Center at Belle Meade Circle and Mulberry Lane I am amazed to find that the building seems to occupy virtually the entire site. My question is, where's the parking for this 60 bed facility going to be? It's obvious to me that there is virtually no space at the site for parking. Are visitors, Doctors, Employees expected to park in the Bank Parking Lot or perhaps in front of established businesses like Beef O'Brady, etc. Not sure these nearby neighbors will be real happy about their patrons having to search for parking spaces.
Need some help here. Who knows the answer?

Will you be a client of this facility?

I get lost in the North end. (Do you see what I typed, Karen??)
I get lost, so is that the new place they are building that may have a pool inside? It isn't built by the developer is it? If we are talking about the same one. I was so busy trying to see if SwimDawg may have a winter pool, I didn't notice the parking.
Is this the one past Nancy Lopez???
It is going to have beds? I thought it was a huge fitness place. Maybe this is a different place. Dumb Blonde Disease.

I have asked my wife this same question! There is virtually no place for people to park. I am afraid that they will park in the big parking lot next to the facility and take up all of the Beef O'Brady's parking.
They cannot park on the street as that is where the golf cart lanes are.
I am sure that this will turn into a big mess!!

I am not sure why that matters. This was a stupid place to put a 60 bed rehabilitation center anyway. It is an ugly two story building in the middle of a congested traffic area. If they would have put it in the area along rt 42 it would have been better.

Unfortunately, something similar is going up on Rte 466a...it even looks like they're sneaking in a 3rd story in the back.
However they do seem to have room for parking.
It's really too bad, what we really need down here in the south is another grocery store.

What's wrong with the Publix at Colony?

I was talking to someone who works at Publix and he said that once Brownwood is nearer completion they will put a Publix closer to us here in the South. I sure hope so. It is a bit of a drive to get there from Buttonwood. Takes 15-20 minutes!

There is an Ace Hardware in Wildwood, very convenient, just 3 mi. from my house in Hemingway. Also a Radio Shack and a Post Office next door to the Ace Hardware.

The new one would probably be in the shopping plaza near Brownwood. Just add another 10 minutes to your trip.
There is a Sweetbay planned on 466A near the Sumter county service center.
BTW you are retired what is 10-15 minutes?

Colony isn't full. Actually it looks like thay're staking one of the empty areas. Maybe there's an Ace in our future.

Nothing wrong other than the fact that it's crowded most times, even now when it's not even "Season".
Last year they had a hard time keeping the shelves stocked from Jan thru March.
As to the Sweetbay in our future...it's been our future so long I think it's gone into the past.

Wow! I posted a serious question about parking at the new Health and Rehab Center being built at Mulberry. How is it that you TOTV people are able to turn it into an issue about Publix and ACE Hardware that has absolutely nothing to do with the original post. If you don't understand the question you would be better to not respond rather than change the topic to something you'd rather discuss. Start a new thread! Frankly, I really don't care about Grocery Stores to the South, or more ACE Hardware Stores or the new Sweetbay. I'm simply looking for an answer to the question I raised. Now for your information, some of you. No, I'm not a candidate for the new building as I don't even know what it's purpose is. Also, no, it's not near Lopez unless you idea of near Lopez is Mulberry Plaza. A visit to Google Maps would help you in resolving this problem.

Bosoxfan, What is wrong with using the Ace Hardware in Wildwood? It is a lot closer to those of us on 466a that going all the way across the Village.

The place hasn't opened yet, and you say there is a parking problem. Have you tried to park at O'Bradys and couldn't? Whats the beef?

This is a standalone building that should provide parking for users, visitors, and staff. If you have bothered to go down and look at the construction you would see that there is no parking available for any of the above. Why should the businesses in Mulberry Grove give up any of their parking for this business?
And yes, there are times when Beef O'Brady's is busy and I don't want to have to walk an extra distance because the new Health and Rehab Center did not provide parking for their customers.

I think the building on 466A is going to be an assisted living facility. Do you think it will have rehab and health club, too?

Bravo! Someone who not only read the original post but also understands it. Wish there were more of you out there who could do the same.
I think the Ace Hardware in Wildwood is great. Much larger than the Ace stores in the Villages. People in store are extremely helpful. I think prices are a little bit less than the ones in TV. I bought my last TV at the the combination Radio Shack and TV store next to the Ace Hardware at a very competitive price. They delivered and set up TV at no charge. I have purchased a bed at the Babcock store in the same shopping center. As TV expands towards Wildwood on the east side, I believe Wildwood stores will be used more often by TV people. Brownwood and the new Villages shopping center next to Brownwood are in the city limits of Wildwood.

If you notice all of the construction workers are parking on the Bruster's property. When the broker brought a prospective buyer to see the property last week, there was no where for them to park on this privately owned property.
