Lunch went from bad to worse yesterday at Glenview. When I asked about using the Grill Room menu in another room, I was frostily informed that it was never possible although last Tuesday, I was told I could use it anywhere before 3pm. After some discussion we opted to just use the inside porch and use whatever menu they had. One diner opted for a fresh turkey club w/soup. I opted for a loaded potato and soup special. Turkey turned out to be lunchmeat which my friend is unable to eat. The waitress took back the turkey and quickly brought out an untoasted half muffin with a bit of tuna salad and a partially melted slice of cheese on it. My "loaded" potato was infant size, hard and had parsley and bacon bits. Soups were good but only luke warm. Without a doubt one of the most unpleasant lunchtime experiences I've had. It will be a long time before I try again. And I know the old "you should have talked to the manager" advice. The place was, loud and busy and we just wanted to leave!

Should have ordered the burger................one of the best in TV.
BTW you are right, you should have talked to the manager. Unfortunately we here on TOTV cannot make it right.....the manager might have given the chance.

Exactly. I have been there for Sunday Brunch a few times and was very impressed with the food, waitresses and ambience. Sometimes we pick a golf course near there on Sundays just for the brunch afterwards.

They must have read your post and straightened everything out because my bride and I had a wonderful lunch there this afternoon.

We won't be dining there after my wife's bad experience. It is always a good idea to speak with management about such issues, but that doesn't guarentee that the situation will be remedied. In one such case it didn't do any good:

At least you didn't get slammed for providing a negative review as in the above link.

I agree. Never have understood why people knock someone just because he/she didn't like a particular restaurant. BTW, we love Glenview and go often.

We keep getting the same server by luck or chance when we go to Glenview. We don't go all that often, but she remembered that Helene doesn't like tomato and onion on her cheeseburger and some other detail about what Sweetie ordered to drink. This attractive woman made us feel so welcome and was an excellent server and the food was very good too.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience.

Good. Less waiting time for the rest of us.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh. It sounds so different the next day. It does get very crowded at Sunday Brunch, though.
