We stopped by The Villages the other afternoon for the first time while in Fl visiting relatives.
All we have to say is WOW! Love it!!!!
We only saw a little bit, but we were not in love with Spanish Springs but were head over heals in love with Lake Sumpter Landing. Sumpter is where we will be focusing our search. It's so beautiful.
We found a few neighborhoods we loved, but have no clue if they are designer or premier. Premier will be too rich for our blood.
We will be doing a lifestyle visit in the Spring. We can't wait! :MOJE_whot:

Market Square (Sumter) is the newer of the two town squares so logically may be somewhat more appealing to many. When Brownwood is completed it will be the shiny new downtown and will be favored by many. I think each town square offers a unique and enjoyable opportunity and I like to go to whichever one has the best entertainment, market night, or cruise in, that particualar night. Most people that have become residents indicate that after a few months they go to the squares less and less frequently. You really need to come to the LSP with an open mind and look for the location that best fits your lifestyle needs and desires. In my opinion, there is no one area that has a corner on the lifestyle opportunities.

Going on a week as FROGS I think we've been to both squares twice. Rocky and the Rollers in SS on Monday, market night, Cactus Jack and market night thursday in LSL. Thought originlly we'd only go to LSL but it depends on what's happening. We turned out to almost exactly 1/2 way between each so it is not a matter of distance for one over the other. With the Itlian Fest parade in LSL we went there tonight, as did just about everybody, and had a fabulous time.
When you look for a house look for the house you want, the neighborhood and distance to this or that will take care of itself. It's all good.......

Everyone we spoke with encouraged us to find a house we liked and not worry about how close to a town sq we were. They said being close to rec centers and pools were more important than the town sq. Besides, part of the fun is tooling around in your golf cart. Does it really matter if you are 10 min from a town square or 20 min? Your RETIRED!:D

Hi Charlton,
Guess what? The Wow never wears off. :a040:
I agree with others. From a daily life perspective, living near a town square isn't that important. Indeed, longer rides in the golf cart enjoying the beauty is one of my favorite flavors of TV's Kool refreshment. Living near grocery and other shopping is more convenient. I would say, so is being close to a pool and rec center. But every neighborhood in TV is close to a pool and rec. center. :)
Keep us posted on your visit this spring.
