Do Villagers rent out their homes for long weekends? Interested in South of 466/near LSL/November. I know I could do the Waterfront, but really want the rec ctr pass/cart while looking for homes.

you could but by the time you pay for a cleaning fee, a hotel would be cheaper

I just checked the Waterfront Inn website - 3 nights - cheapest room with AAA discount was over $126 per night, plus hotel tax (9% in Sumter Co).

I think you might find a patio villa with a golfcart for about the same, including cleaning fee, in November, if you find one that's available and that will rent for less than a week. Plus, you could save some on food by eating breakfast and some other meals in.

Can't remember - is this post in the Rentals forum? Also check ****.com and vacationrentals.com and thevillages4rent.com - lots of work, but probably can be done. And maybe you'll get lucky and find something thru TOTV.

I used to rent our CYV, and would have considered this if it wasn't rented by now for November, or if say, I had only rented the last 2 weeks.

mgm4444, Check with the Waterfront Inn to see if you could park a rental golf cart in their parking lot. I don't know if you could rent a golf cart for 3 or 4 days in November, but it might be worth checking out. You wouldn't get a rec center pass if you stayed at the Waterfront Inn, but it would save you a cleaning fee. Right now I'm paying an $85 cleaning fee for a one week rental.

Have you checked into a lifestyle preview visit? Seems like that would fit the ticket.

I've exhausted my lifestyle visits...cause that's how much I love TV! Just haven't found my Frog Headquarters yet. Time's running out (flights) so I guess it's the Waterfront for me!

Enjoy your visit. The the online edition of www.thevillagesdailysun.com, under classified ads, transportation, golf carts for rent, there were 10 listings for businesses that rent golf carts.

Try this site www.****.com .

I rent both of my houses, but the problem is the cleaning. It's 125.00 to clean the house. One day or 30 days, it's the same price. So short term rentals just don't pay for the owner and are too expensive for the renter.

Try to site I listed.

Your TV agent can get you a discount at The Waterfront. And you can park a rental golf cart in the parking lot. We stayed there in July with a significant discount from The Villages, as we were only in town a couple nights and didn't want to pay for the minimum four days Lifestyle Preview. The rate, including taxes, was right around $100, and we had a waterfront room. Of course, the Fall rate has got to be higher than the July rate, but I would check with my agent before I made a reservation. And walking distance to Cody's is only about 200 yards.

Name your own price for Lady Lake, 3 star has only one hotel and it is the Waterfront. Not sure what the cost might be but might be worth a bid. Anyone tried it?
