Finally got my project finished - for the moment. I removed the sod, installed anti weed fabric and 3 u yds of river rock pebbles. With the addition of assorted ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs and various cacti, and a piece of driftwood, I am about finished grubbing around. It will look good in about a month when the plants begin to flourish.

3 Cubic Yards of river rock weighs about 6,000 lbs. At about 30 lbs a load, that's about 200 trips from the dump pile to the landscape area.
Good Job!

This looks great, but I'd love to see a larger photo.

Hi Chuck. Theank you for those statistics, and I am SO glad I had no idea how many trips I made with the wheelbarrow. :MOJE_whot:Harder than moving the sand and pebbles, was removing the sod. I had to use my "pointy shovel" to cut a lft square of sod, slide the shovel under the toupe, and lean on the shovel handle to separate the grass roots from the ground. Then heave the square into the wheelbarrow. I removed a 42ft long, and 4' wide swathe. I wisely took a week off before having the sand delivered :) I think this is my last BIG project.

Very pretty! :BigApplause:
I am curious about how detailed you had to make your application to the arc review cmte? Did you just have to sketch out the general idea or also give them a list of plants you planned to use, as well as their location in the project?
