The Department of Energy in an eleventh hour effort to use expiring taxpayer dollars awarded SUNPOWER a $1.2 billion, yes, billion dollar loan guarantee. A SUNPOWER spokesman said,"the requirements of the program -- helping America win the clean energy race and create new industries for American workers." The sad fact is that the program, according to SUNPOWER will create 15 new jobs. Uhhhh.....that would be $80 million per job while the taxpayer is on the hook for $1.2 billion give or take a nickel.

In case you aren't exercised yet, SunPower's cash flow indicates it lost $150 million in the first half. Great shades of Solyndra. In its SEC filings, SunPower says its existence is dependent on government funding

George Miller (D), California, a SUNPOWER advocate has a son that is a lobbyist for SUNPOWER. What is the Obama administration and the DOE trying to do? To be fair and balanced, Schwartenegger and Bush were also early cheerleaders for SUNPOWER.

Back to those jobs. With its new found windfall, SUNPOWER will be opening a brand new manufacturing facility with concurrent jobs...............in MEXICO.

You just can't make this stuff up'

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? The only outrage is coming from the right. To put it in a tree hugger context.....If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a noise.
