No, there's not going to be an atmospheric phenomena happening!
This morning Atlas Movers were at our New York State home and loaded their trailer with our belongs. In the morning we will begin our trek to TV, my wife, kitties and a friend in one vehicle driving the entire 1200 miles and me with the other vehicle taking the Autotrain from VA. Our NY home will be on the market Nov 1 and I'll soon begin recovery from the nervous breakdown!
So Mr. and Mrs. Skyguy will be meeting up with the Florida sunshine within the week!:clap2:
Hooray!!!:MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:
Hurry home...and you can recover from your nervous breakdown with the rest of us who've managed to survive!
CONGRATULATIONS to our newest Froggies!

Gracie, I told my kitties that your kitties want to meet them. Pixie responded by signaling me to scratch her belly and Copper indicated that he's resting an doesn't want me to bother him! LoL Seriously, I know that they tell that something's happening because of the missing furnature, but they have no idea what's about to happen to them... three days of... La Cage aux folles!
Hope your NY home sells quickly!
Bill :)Thanks Bill. Thankfully we didn't need to sell the home up here first, but we certainly don't want the sale to linger or the market to drop even more than it has in the last couple of years. Just in that time it dropped on our house by about $40,000. Anyway, have that popcorn ready for when we meet! :1rotfl:

You'll have to postpone that nervous breakdown....you won't have time right away.... ;)Our stuff is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, the same day I do. My wife and a frend are driving all the way through with the kitties and should be there by Monday sometime... if they resolve a tire problem they're having. I just received a call from her and they're looking for a place to get it done!
BTW, the nervous breakdown only affects me when I'm awake! http://www.myemoticons.com/images/emotions/anxious/nervous-2.gif

Holy crow... my home is right near the entrance to the Bainbridge villas on Rhapsody. What a coincidence! I wondered if anyone was from the Villages but didn't meet any. You'd possible remember me, I was the big guy with a pony tail in a wheel chair and I was in the last sleeper's H room on the train. Anyway, I did have a fairly decent sleep, better than I usually do!

I rented a house one time on Dunkirk Trail. I like Hadley a lot.
I dont remember seeing you. I dont even know where the
sleeper cars are.
But, I will next time because I am going to book one for the return
trip next Spring/Summer.
I had to wait about 45 minutes for my car and I got to The Villages
a little before noon I think.
Still kind of spacy from the trip, lol.

Hope your NY home sells quickly!
Bill :)It's beginning to look like you and others may have brought us good luck with your well wishes. As I stated in the OP, our house goes on the market on Nov. 1st. However, the agent contacted me during the beginning of last week and said that the house was ready for showing and they wanted to move it up to what is now this past Thursday.
Here, now three days after listing we get an acceptable offer and have another that has looked at the house a total of 4 or 5 times already. Might we have a bidding war in the making? :clap2:
BTW, if anyone wants to see the house we're selling's listing, PM me and I'll provide you with the web address. (no need to make an offer first)

Our good luck took a rapid about face thanks to our property being declared by FEMA to be in a flood zone, and our house has never even come close to any flooding or had more than a few inches of standing water in our basement from storm drain backup when there has been nearby flooding. Go figure! And this is just one of a number of negative situations we've experienced lately where the cause can be traced back to various actions by our federal government.
It also figures that our buyers found out about this new decleration before we did, and when they found out that flood insurance (required by the bank) would cost something like $4500 per year, they backed out of the contract.
Next week we're having an engineer do an elevation study at an additional expense of $500 as that may result in a signifant reduction in the flood insurance cost, possibly to under $900 anually, and if that can happen then we have a much better chance of selling with the taxes being pretty low at out location. If we're really lucky we might find a cash buyer and insurance won't be necessary.
In the mean it's back to square one!http://www.opticstalk.com/smileys/Head%20Banger.gif

Here we go with round two! Got and accepted an offer today from another party that's aware of the flood zone situation! Not as good a deal (for us) as the first one that fell through, but it is within our acceptable range anyway! If all goes smooth with the appraisal and inspection, then we should be good to go... knock on wood! Let's just hope that Murphy's Law doesn't strike us twice!

We lived at 1800 feet above Sea Level and no drainage or rivers near us.
A Government FEMA Goof had us in a Flood Zone! Bank wanted us to buy flood insurance?
I feel your pain it took a year to get it reversed but it was corrected.
Good luck on the new sale.

After the flood zone issue was resolved, then came yet another hurdle to get over. The radon test showed that the level was over a 6. (4 is highest acceptable) Sounds like my parents were lucky in that neither ever developed any health problems associated with radon, and they lived there approx. 50 years. At least the rest of the inspection (as well as the bank's appraisal) went OK!
Anyway, that wasn't too bad a hurdle to get over except it's costing us somewhere around $1400 for the ventilation system. We have our fingers crossed now and got notified yesterday by our lawyer's office that they're hoping to close tomorrow, (Fri) unless the lender has a problem with it, then comes the $$$ that all the loan sharks are ready to devour! (just kidding)
So far we haven't gotten confirmation about closing tomorrow, so I guess it boils down to our continually being on pins and needles right up to the last minute.
This process would have been a lot more fun though... if we were into S&M! :1rotfl:

Just finished reading the entire thread for the first time. Looking at the dates I thought something must be wrong. Glad to see it all worked out during this festive time of year.
