View Full Version : Is there a Glossary of terms used here?

I am new to Talk Of the Villages. Is there a glossary on this site? Many acronyms and the use of initials escape me. Some I have been able to figure out: TV- The Villages; TOTV- Talk of the Villages.

In many threads it appears the use of different abbreviations are used to describe the same thing VCDD, CDD etcetera.

For example what does the term "Frog" mean?

TF Hutch, Welcome to TOTV. I agree, there are a lot of acronyms used on this board. A couple more you may encounter for the two town squares: SS = Spanish Springs Town Square. LSL = Lake Sumter Landing Market Square. :welcome:

Hi TF Hutch,

Welcome to TOTV!

Snowbirds: come here for the winter
Snowflakes: come here whenever they get a chance throughout the year.
Frogs: Are full-time residence who have no intention of ever moving away. They are "here 'til they croak".

Pretty ribbiting , huh?

Allow me to clarify this.

VCDD – Stands for Villages Community Development Districts. It is a generic term that refers to the collection of 10 numbered residential districts and the two special districts that own and/or control all the amenities in TV

VCCDD – Villages Center Community Development District (with two C’s and two D’s) the special district for the amenities north of 466.

SLCDD - Sumter Landing Community Development District the special district for the amenities south of 466.

Off Topic,

I am having difficulty "copying and pasting" today on this site, unable to "drag" over more than one word at a time. Anyone else having this difficulty? I would like to update this Glossary with the fine submissions since last update (1.2).

Before requesting moderator help I would like to confirm that it is not just me.

Thank you for your comments, submissions and clarifications.

Updated web browser, all seems fine now.
