I loved his commentaries for years. He had a few missteps along the way, but that will happen when you work for over 70 years. It almost seems as if his life was his work, and without it he died a month later.

A funny, insightful fellow.
A long life doing what he seemed to love.

Hi Brostholder,
I wondered that too. It also could be though that he left because his health was failing, either preceding or following the surgery that caused complications. Whatever the reasons...
Goodbye, Andy. You are missed.

Enjoyed his commentaries. He lived a long and full life, still working into his
90's. Yes, he will be missed.

Hi PTurner, I think you're probably right. I heard that he had some "minor" surgery performed and suffered complications from it. He probably just put the surgery off until he retired.

Wonderful Man- Todays TV reporters are no where near the class he had.
I was fortunate enough to mentor under him for a day at a conference in Albany NY.
Gods Speed Brother sad yet happy you have moved on without the pain.

One of the last that didn't adhere to polticial correctness. You may not have agreed with his position but you knew he would always address a legitimate point of view, unlike so many of the spineless pundits on television/radio/newspapers today

What I always liked about him was that he said, at least it seemed to me, exactly what he thought; he spoke from the heart. Whether you agreed with him or not, at least he was willing to take a stand. I learned alot from him.
