I know-another golf cart question!
I really can use some advise. I'm coming down in Jan to use my home in Woodbury (I have been renting it for the last 1 1/2 years).
I won't exactly be a snowbird, but will be basically spending 6 months in TV and 6 months in RI, depending on my work schedule.
Based on this schedule, how should I consider golf cart use. If I buy one, will the inactivity while I'm away be a problem? Should I rent one just for the time I am here? Or is there another alternative?
Can't wait until Jan when I can golf, tennis and be involved in singles activities!

Renting a cart for six months every year would get pretty expensive pretty quickly. If you're having someone watch your house, part of the services should be taking your golf cart out -- once a month for a long drive if gas; once a week around the block if electric.
Alternatively, get a battery saver and attach it; add Sta-Bil to the gas; and prop it up on jacks to save the tires while gone (if gas). For electric, prop it up and plug the charger in; put the cart in tow.

What redwitch said!
Additionally, if you're going to leave a gas cart unattended for any length of time, it's also a good idea to turn the fuel shut-off valve to 'off' then run (or drain) all the gas out of the carburetor.

We have electric carts - don't like to leave them plugged in while we are gone because of potential lightning strikes. We leave ours fully charged and unplugged and in "tow" mode.
Golf cart tech told us probably best to ask friendly neighbors rather than caretakers to check the water levels and drive it around the block monthly, charge overnight and unplug the next morning and leave in tow until the next month. He said once a month would be fine. He thinks caretakers tend to want to get everything done in 1 visit per week, and this is a 2-day job, but just once a month.
He said nothing about putting it up to save tires - I would think driving it monthly would solve that issue.
