My hairdresser (yes :) ) told me there is a private restaurant at LSL, she
pointed to the area above Red Sauce. Wondering if this is true, if so
who gets to use it?

Yes it's called the Angler Club. All the deals are made up there. I was told the chef from there is going to Sanibell to cook.

Or by invitation only?
It's the executive dining room - and not used very much.

Are you happy with your hairdresser? Want to share her name with us? Will be looking for someone as soon as we move in on the 12th of January!

Just out of curiosity I looked up the Angler's Club in Google, and found that it got 6 violations during the most recent inspection by Sumter County authorities on 10/11/2011, and a warning was issued.
So you may not want to rush right over and hope to get into this private club!

All of the construction people and contractors can dine there also. The have to pay a monthly fee for membership and it is a use it or lose it deal.

The list of the violations really wasn't that bad.
I just looked up Bonefish Grill and the inspection last month yielded 15 violations, 5 of them critical. Go figure.

Many moons ago there was the same type of private club at Spanish Springs. Perhaps they move it to the newer area. Eventually it may be at Brownville!!

That "private club" at SS was the beginning of Cattle Barons. They wanted us to pay to eat and enjoy ourselves - with a minimum fee. When they did not get any takers, they tried other schemes but no one would bite. So it is what it is now. Just another place to eat in TV. BUT it is semi-private because you have to be a Villager (or have a guest pass) to get into Katie Belles. Cattle Barons is on the second floor.

I saw 2 limousines pull up at the rear of Red Sauce and a wedding party was escorted up the back stairs so I thought it was a function room.

No this was across the street om Main Street above the Margherita Republic area. I remember the Cattle Barron debacle too.

So would Cattle Baron's at Katie Bell's be a special place to take relatives from up north to eat? Or would it be better at a country club such as Cane Gardens or Bonifay? They are coming just for the day next Friday the day after Thanksgiving.

I think Cattle Baron is beautiful. The food is delicious & reasonable. You can sit upstairs & listen to the music downstairs. It's also nice to sit out on the balcony for a drink.

Thanks, Bonny, if we are in SS at lunchtime, we'll go there!

There is another thread devoted to Cattle Barrons and not so positive. My experiences there have been negative and I will not go back. the CC's are a much better value.
