I was stationed at SAC Hqs at Offutt AFB 1968-69 before heading to Phan Rang AB Vietnam Dec 31,1969. What a New Years Eve:wave:

I Spent that very same New Years eve in downtown Saigon. Fired my .38 into the air on side street walking back from 3rd Field hospital to Iowa Hotel about a block away.

I was in Saigon once to go on R&R to Hawaii. Didnt care for it. Was ate up by mosquitoes waiting to leave out the next day and my face looked like chicken pox. Didnt feel to good the first couple of days,Phan Rang was a beautiful place by the mountains and China Sea.Seems like a lifetime ago now:sigh:
