A car buddy of mine sent this link to me. If you're sentimental about cars......and about your father.........I think you'll like this video. It really stuck a chord with me. If only my dad was still alive...........I picked up my love for all things automotive from him.

Bill :)

Thanks Bill for sharing this video. Very heartwarming.

GM could sell a lot of Chevy's with a commercial of this.

That is such a wonderful video! I sent it to my siblings, especially the classic car buff. So touching! Thank you!

What a great story! This gave me time to reflect back to all those good times cruising with my dad and, in doing so, it reminding me how much I miss him.

Thanks for allowing me to take my own journey down memory road. I'm smiling in Natick...goosebumps and all.

Your Mother and Father must have been beautiful people because
they raised two great, loving sons. What a greta surprise.
God Bless you all

Me too. I just not as quick as you are. :)

I feel like I was in a cartoon and the bubble out of my mouth had the words," GM could sell a lot of Chevy's" and there was the commercial in the next frame.

It is a great story. Can't help wondering if it's true or marketing hype. It sure didn't look like a home video with real people.

Oh darn. I wanna believe. Yes Virginia, there is...

P, here's a comment from 'ukraina95' on that YouTube link:

"@eagle003 Youre probably wondering how we were able to capture Herbs true Chevy story on film. It was easier than youd think. Conspiring with his two sons, Jared and Derek, we posed as a film crew to document three generations of an American family. Herb, being a good sport and a proud father and grandfather, played along. Little did he know, of course his long- lost Impala would come rumbling into view. The rest, as youve seen, is history."

That, along with the fact that Chevrolet posted the video with the title "Chevy True Stories.....", lends some credence to the concept that it's a true story. Wouldn't seem to me to be a good marketing strategy for Chevrolet if it wasn't legit.

Great video!!! I had seen the commercial and not realized that it was an actual true story. They did a great job of hiding their search. I've had a couple of cars that I wish I could find again. I don't know what I would do with them though.
