website pop-up

does anyone have an idea as to why my computer started getting a pop-up in the totv website this morning:

"The server www.talkofthevillages.com at adpeepslive requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection)."

such a pain! i keep cancelling it and eventually get access that i usually have...maybe mercury is in retrograde again!

Sorry, was trying to protect a directory and it caused that. This has been fixed.

I just got back in cleanly after seeing that popup about 20 minutes ago. I did not proceed with login at that time.

It seems to have resolved itself.
