I hate a lot of 'bad' words but the worst one of all (to me) is the "S" word. Whenever I hear it, I cringe. The other night I heard a local newscaster using it...ugh.. For some reason, it conjures up disgusting visions in my head. Have you ever taken your dog for a walk and stepped in it???? Yep, I really, really hate snow, and guess what's coming down right now! Can't wait to get to TV!!!!

For a second there, I was thinking this is the start of another poopular thread. :)
We have had a significant snowfall in October in CT. I don't like the white stuff either. Just hoping this winter is not a bad as the last. Last year was brutal.

When I lived in Louisville I disliked that word too - and also the f word which often came before it (flurries).

I love it and love to hear and feel it crush under my feet. I love to use my snowblower so much I plow out my neighbors driveway. White is the color of purity and enhances the Christmas Holidays. I love when it snows so I can stick my tongue out and catch snowflakes. I love the way snow clears the air. I love the winter sports.:loco:

It's nice to hear a positive spin on snow. You've rekindled sweet memories from years ago, before snow became a dirty word. I sold my snowblower "toy" just a few months ago, and although I love being here in this warm Paradise, I will miss my Ohio neighbors and the early mornings of clearing everyone's driveways in the crisp winter. Our end of the street had only six houses and I loved watching my powerful machine blow snow high into the air and clear the walks and driveways.

I got plenty of fond memories. Don't need any more in-person events to remember!

Ok...I'll concede...the snow is beautiful ON POSTCARDS! The whole snowblowing thing is overrated...how about scraping ice off the windows, getting stuck...looking at the snow after the third day when it is all dirty and ugly...ruining your shoes and boots with the salt, not to mention the damage to cars...falling on the ice and breaking something (admit it, as time passes this does become an issue) By moving to a warmer climate, you still have the ability to visit the snow...then leave when you get over the need to freeze. I'll take Florida anytime!

I'll take Florida anytime! You forgot to add the snow plow coming by and leaving a humungus pile of snow at the front of your driveway... just after you cleaned the pile left the last time they went by!
I can't tell you the times I've been fustrated by that. I lived on a corner and the plow would pick up a ton of snow on the curve and left it in my driveway. At the same time the neighbor on the other side of the street's driveway was positioned before the plow hit the corner, and he usually had one fifth of what I had dumped on him... and he enjoyed clearing snow! Go figure!
A friend used to work for the town that did the plowing, and when I good naturedly complained to him about it he would tell me that he and the others made a habit of waiting until they saw that I just cleared my driveway - then make their pass!

This has been a complaint for many people. Last year, there was so much snow, some people couldn't see the roads clearly enough to safely get out of their driveways resulting in accidents. :(
Snow:
Lovely to look at.
Lovely to behold.
When you don't have it,
Your in TV.
I'm not a poet and know it. :)

When it's on evergreens.
It's cute as can be.
But if you don't have it,
Then you're in TV!
