This will be our first long winter experience in TV having bought in Pennecamp this February. First time trying auto train from Lorton, VA. Was surprised to learn that trains booked three weeks ahead. Guess start of snow bird migration time. Ride was good but lots of shaking unlike other express trains of Europe and Japan experienced. Had to discuss who sleeps on the upper bed. The argument of which I won because of more trips to the bathroom with my diabetic situation. Food in the dining car was o.k. but service was good. Since we brought the car in late, had only 9 p.m. dining service available. Had friendly people as our dining companions both dinner and breakfast. It really helped us pass time. Lounge car was half empty. TV was showing Leslie Carron and Gene Kelly in An American in Paris. Perhaps because we brought the car late, we were one of the first one out of the car lot. Drive to TV was easy and not long. Will recommend auto train as a change of pace. Although I had a TV cap on, no one stopped me. Our dining companions were not from TV but at least one couple knew about the place. They did have complimentary things to say about TV. To be Continued....
