To answer your question, if you go to a chiropractor, you are taking the conservative route, go to an orthopedic doctor, you are looking for DRUGS, or surgery...Granted NOT all chiropractors are ethical and have a solid understanding of what they are doing, BUT that would also apply to orthopedic doctors!
The "ole boy" was the exception to the rule, his educational background was, master's degree in bio-chemistry, PHD in human anatomy, laboratory and classroom instructor in human dissection techniques and board certified chiropractor for 30 years...His belief has always been that there is room for both conservative and aggressive approaches to restoring health...Those decisions should be made by the doctor and patient....His patients came from all over and his poor ole' hands would still be helping patients now, EXCEPT he is LOVING his TV retirement, oh, and GOLF!!!!

Dr Paulk is a good choice. I was a mess after we moved here and did a bunch of stuff to the house. He has me feeling normal again! Nice staff also.

Diane, a good source to also help relieve your back pain may be Therapeutic Massage by Larry! Check it out on Search the Villages.

The very best Chiropractic office ever is Compton Chiropractic! Just off 446 on CR101 in Palm Ridge Plaza. I was misdiagnosed with hip bursitis for over 8 months, being treated with shots and physical therapy, which did not help. A friend had been to this father-and-son group and was successfully treated for migraine headaches and an injured knee. So I went and they were able to put my dislocated SI joint (hip) back in place in 5 minutes!! To boot, he was able to adjust my upper spine which had caused me shoulder blade area muscle spasms for over 10 years!! Amazing in my book!
As an RN, my first inclination was to medical doctors for my problem, but now I am really a believer. I have known of other chiropractors who are there for your wallet, but this group is not that way at all. They don't try to sell you unnecessary treatments or gimmicks. They fix your problem and don't overcharge. I am so thrilled to have found Compton - I can't recommend them highly enough!!
