Affordable tv for seasonal user?

As a new owner of a villa, we will only be using ours for four months a year (2 in the winter and 2 in the summer) for the next couple of years. Any suggestions on affordable access for tv without paying for twelve months when we'll only use four months.

We are in TV on weekends only and didnt want to pay a lot for cable We found Limited Basic from Comcast has about 20 channels for $16.95 per month. You have to specifically ask for this package because they won't even tell you about it. I asked for their cheapest pkg and they quoted me their $29.95 pkg I pressed them and they finally told me they have the "Limited Basic" pkg but they arent suppose to mention it unless asked. No contract is required but we did have to pay $49.95 to hook up

Many utilities can be "put to sleep". Unfortunately you always pay garbage. And, of course, amenities. Have you considered renting?

If you have DirecTV back home, look into their Movers Connection program. They'll do a free antenna install at your TV villa and allow you to bring your receiver(s) from home down to TV and pick up the satellite signal there. No additional charges! But you can only have service active at one location or the other - can't leave one receiver back home being used while also using one in TV. You'll also be able to receive the local stations in central FL while you're in TV. A phone call to them each time you're switching service locations is all you need to do to make that happen - PM me for details of how to make that call very simple as it can get to be time consuming if you don't get hold of the right people with DirecTV!

You can check into this by going to http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/movers of calling them at (888) DTV-MOVE. It's intended as a program to keep customers when they move to a new home. But they do also allow it for people who are going to be maintaining a second vacation home.

Dish Network might offer something similar.

I have the dish tv snowbird package. I have a dish setup in Virginia Beach and one in TV.
I go back and forth at least 6 times a year. Each time I travel I bring my Dish box with me and when I get there I hook it up. Call the 800 number. They ask a few questions and in 10 minutes I am hooked up and running. There is no addl charges for this Dish service.
