New Years Day

Arriving TV New Years Eve. Anything special on tap for the Sumter Square? Parades, ball-drop parties, stuff like that?

As for New Years day, I suppose the visitors center is shut down and guest passes can't be picked up until 1/2/12. Does anyone know for sure? 1/1/2012 is a Sunday.

We are arriving for a 2nd tour on 12/28 and were told we could not check out until the 3rd as the Welcome Center was closied on the 1 & 2nd. I asked twice about the 2nd but I guess because the 1st is a Sunday the employees get Monday as the holiday. We are looking for a good place to spend NYE after the celebrations at the square.
