We took a ride to Clermont today to see the BJ's there. I think it's relatively new. It's a 45 minute ride from Spanish Springs. I didn't really see much difference from Sam's other than the fresh deli counter.
Just making a comment . . . open for opinions!

While I like Sam's, I prefer BJ's. They have items that I would buy up in Ma., like good italian sausage and natural casing hot dogs. A few years ago, I read that their sales were down, and were having a hard time competing against Sam's and Costco. They changed their business model and started catering more to non-business customers by selling smaller portioned goods, larger than grocery stores, but smaller than Sam's and Costco. Personally, I put Costco first, BJ's second, and Sam's third. I do find that buying in volume doesn't always equal savings.

We were members of both BJ's and Costco in NJ. We preferred BJ's for food, primarily for the smaller portions. We preferred Costco for non-food items.
