A compelling case can be made that there is a media bias against Tim Tebow, quarterback for the Denver Broncos and former U. of Florida All-American. He continues to confound the dire predictions that suggest he doesn't belong in the NFL. Some suggest that the reason for the criticism is rooted in his demonstratively Christian public persona on and off the gridiron.

Do you believe secular political and media interests have an anti-Christian and anti-Tim Tebow bias? If your a Florida state fan, you're too biased to answer.:)

I think it cuts both ways; in other words, I think he gets more attention both negatively and positively because of his overtly religious views. I personally think he is a great story and one of the best ambassadors for Christianity around. I have always beleived that the NFL is blind to the abilities of anyone who doesn't fit their narrow view of what a player should look like or be (see Flutie, Doug). Tebow is a winner, always has been, and that very intangible quality is hard for "nfl experts" to wrap their minds around. As for the "media bias" the vast majority that I have heard criticize him are former players who would not really count as media.

"Reggie White, Green Bay's impossible defensive end, is known as the Minister of Defense because of the way he throws opposing linemen out of the way as he pursues a scrambling quarterback or a jittery running back. Standing 6'5" and weighing in at 290 pounds, Reggie is blessed with incredible speed and strength. Before beginning regular weight training, he could bench-press 425 pounds. He has clocked at 4.69 in the 40-yard dash-more speed than a man his size should be allowed to have. By anyone's standards, Reggie is no wimp.

"There are some people who say Christianity is for wimps, but people can say what they want," White asserts. "As far as I'm concerned, being a Christian makes you more of a man. Jesus was the bravest, toughest man who ever walked on the face of this earth. Before he died on the cross, he could have snapped his fingers and everything would have been over. But he chose not to do that and instead, died a painful death to pay for our sins.

"Studying God's Word helped keep my life on track, even though there were bad influences like drugs and crime all around me. Reading about the trials of Christ and others in the Bible makes me more committed to serving Christ."

And Reggie is certainly committed. This ordained minister has been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ since he was 17 years old....."

Tebow, like Reggie White, has his eye on the goal that matters most: the goal of where he will be in eternity, which is a l-o-n-g, l-o-n-g time as compared to 80 or so years here......or the 43 years Reggie White spent here.

As a loyal Denver Bronco fan for some 35+ years I can express an informed opinon.

Issue 1: The fans hated Josh McDainels for what he did to our team...
Issue 2: Much was made about how we could have waited for a later round and still gotten Tebow. (See issue 1)
Issue 3: We gave up some high draft picks to move up and get Tebow. (See issue 1)
Issue 4: Any QB who suits up for Denver stands in the shadow of one person...... John Elway.
Issue 5: After paying so much for Tebow and oh by the way Brady Quinn...it was Orton who started. (See issue 1)
Issue 6: After Fox came in we expected to see Tebow on the field but he was ranked as #3. ( I really don't think that had anything to do with his faith)

After all of this the fans were, somewhat ****ed, so we even paid for billboards in Denver .... Play Tebow.

Finally they put Tebow on the field against the Chargers....he tried to take the team on his back but just fell short. But the fans, including myself gave him a standing O. I love to watch him....now that he is winning the sports guys are coming around....everyone loves a winner.

But what I like is the return to Bronco's football...never knowing what's going to happen and beliving that until the final second ticks off we have a chance to win.

So if you are looking for a anti-Tebow bias don't look in Bronco land....we are having to much fun.

Go Broncos.......

There is a very good article in USA Today about this subject.......
