Having just had a laminate counter installed in the garage today, we are already looking to replace it. We did not make a good color and pattern choice and we are not happy with the workmanship.

Anyone know of an installer who is exacting, pays attention to detail?

We want to make sure we get it right this time.

Thank you in advance.

You mean you are not going to deal with the people who did a poor job and ask them to fix it? I can understand the poor color and pattern choice not being their fault, but the poor workmanship certainly is...

Interesting delimma. If they didn't do a good job to start with then why would they be able to do a better job the second time plus the cost of new tops? I personally wouldn't want to do business with them again but then they do owe quality work.

I believe the guy that did the work was unfortunaely at the "top of his skill level". I did ask him to fix a couple of things before he left, and although he tried... what he did really did not look any better.

Also, if I go back to the same company I will still feel obligated to pay for a new counter top since I am changing color and pattern. I just don't want to take another chance with the installation.

That's why I am looking for some recommendations from people who have had quality work done and are happy with the results.

Thanks again...

Not sure how much counter you are installing, but if less then 12 feet, I would call a few granite companies and ask where they will be installing granite and removing laminate. Tell them the length you need and see if you can purchase it at a small price. That stuff is usually just thrown away. I saved a 12 foot piece when we did our granite to make a work bench in the garage.

I would ask for at least a partial refund...
