It is obvious Obama is in his Pied Piper speech/campaign mode.
And we only have 11 more months to listen to it!!
He is running against a do nothing congress, half of the term it was an all democratic congress.
I just love the way he finesses himself to be on the outside as an innocent bystander.
The political cartoon in Sunday's paper was priceless.
Obama passed the bail out and left the details for congress to work out.
He passed health care and left the details for congress to work out.
He passed a budget extension to keep the government going and left the details for the supper duper congressional team to work out.
And now he runs against a do nothing congress. It ain't even funny...it is pathetic.
Beware the tunes from the Pied Piper!

Classic Narcissistic behavior...Narcissists project guilt, blame, and responsibility onto others, pass the buck, and
hold themselves immune to the consequences of their actions...

but what about what he said? I know you dislike Obama but what about the message? dO THE 2 OF YOU AGREE WITH ANYTHING HE SAID OR ARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE TO BADMOUTH THE MAN NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS. I think I know the answer but what the heck. And finally I see no problem with the Pres taking issue with the anti-middle class stances of the Repub candidates and some members of congress. As a matter of fact I want him to do it more.

I find no great fault with WHAT HE SAID.....however I am more interested in what he does/has done.
He made backrroom deals with ALL the big business's,,,,drug companies, insurance companies etc while working on the great and wonderful health care bill...BACK ROOM DEALS mind you...not open. The continue to get rich because of that.
Listen, I said this about President Obama in 2008.....do not listen to the sweet prose...watch what he does !!! He is the master of the back room stuff that he then comes out and decries and nobody calls him on it.
If you think about it.....REALLY think about it without any bias, you will find it to be true.
One example...
"For months I've been reporting in The Huffington Post that President Obama made a backroom deal last summer with the for-profit hospital lobby that he would make sure there would be no national public option in the final health reform legislation. (See here, here and here). I've been increasingly frustrated that except for an initial story last August in the New York Times, no major media outlet has picked up this important story and investigated further."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/miles-mogulescu/ny-times-reporter-confirm_b_500999.html
Another one...
"President Obama promised that all health care negotiations would be public. Over the course of a year, at campaign appearances, on national TV shows and to newspaper editorial boards, he said that he wanted to “shame” politicians and lobbyists who might otherwise give good deals to drug or insurance companies. It hasn’t worked out that way.
At an Aug. 21, 2008, town-hall meeting in Virginia, Mr. Obama promised: “I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies.”
In a campaign ad last fall, Mr. Obama said: “The pharmaceutical industry wrote into the prescription drug plan that Medicare could not negotiate with drug companies. And you know what? The chairman of the committee, who pushed the law through, went to work for the pharmaceutical industry making $2 million a year. Imagine that.”
That’s all nice rhetoric, but it doesn’t explain Mr. Obama’s backroom deal with drug manufacturers. According to the New York Times, the administration promised that whatever industry first reached an agreement over government health care would get “a rock-solid deal.” Pharmaceutical companies have agreed to reduce drug prices by $80 billion in exchange for a promise that Medicare will not be allowed to negotiate drug prices further. "
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/aug/14/obamacares-backroom-deal/
This is our President at his best....
"President Obama is on the brink of cutting a backroom deal that would give bankers broad immunity for illegally throwing tens of thousands of Americans out of their homes. The Administration is pressuring state attorneys general to abandon an ongoing investigation into the massive “robo-signing” fraud, in exchange for a relatively small payoff by the banks."
http://www.financemoz.com/occupy-wall-street-to-march-against-obama-foreclosure-deal.html
Now if you just thiink of the promises for public hearings, WE GOT NONE...if you think of the backroom payoff to get votes for the healthcare bill, etc.
Listen, there are always things that are negotiated but nothing on the scale that this man has pulled off PLUS...AND I think this is important....he then makes public speeches like this one and it is a different..COMPLETELY different story. He is the master of this !
I do not want my President making backroom deals of this magnitude and then speaking out the other side of his face in public.

He talked a lot about fairness. This isn't fair, that isn't fair, etc, etc, etc.
Just turn it all over to the government... They'll make it fair for everyone.
Bye bye freedom... bye bye USA.
Sad to think so many are so gullable and so willing to sell out our freedom to the liars in government.

Obama didn't pass the bail out - Congress did. Wasn't it Junior who pushed TARP? Anyway.......
Obama didn't pass health care - Congress did.
Obama didn't pass budget extension - Congress did.
A President doesn't pass legislation - Congress does.

please stand corrected...I never ever said I disliked Obama. I have consistently made it known that I have no tolerance for lack of performance by executives...especially POTUS and congress.
The content of his speech, just like so many in the past are right on target. However, measuring promises kept VS promises made has made most of us skeptical of Obama delivering on what he talks about. Right or wrong, it is my opinion Obama feels he has addressed a problem, any problem, by merely making a speech about it. His very low percentage of promises kept is enough validation.

I have never said on this forum anywhere that I did not like the man. I don't even know him on a personal level in order to judge whether I like him or not. I have also never bad mouthed him no matter what he said, on this forum. Please do not accuse me of things I have not done.

OK, if I accept your thoughts then is it fair statement to conclude the President doesn't do or is responsible for anything?
