The man either really believes he is in a class all by himself when it comes to rules including the ones he makes for others to follow OR he just does not care OR as I have said all along he feels he has addressed an issue by merely talking about it.
Knowing he lives under a magnifying glass I suppose there is the issue he flat out could care less!
I opt for the latter based on previous performance/lack of performance by him.

The link wouldn't open for me and so I found the story on Cafe Mom website.

Obama seems to have no problem spending around $100,000 of taxpayer money so that his family won't miss a couple of days of lovely Hawaii in the event he is delayed in leaving, although it's in conflict with his own executive order he recently signed in relation to expense cuts for federal employees, particularly travel.
The royalty never enact laws and regulations that apply to themselves.

When you elect a President, you sign up for this. Doesn't matter the President; they all do it.
In my book, this is a non-issue....

This government MUST slow down the ridiculous spending and that should start from the top down. IMHO

Yep, I know there is too much Federal Goverment employee travel money being spent that could be saved through teleconferencing, etc.
However, what do you think would be said (by Republicans) if Pres. Obama went to Hawaii as originally scheduled and used teleconferncing to talk with Congress in Washington? He would be lambasted for that.
More than likely, the compound that the Obamas will stay in will have been scheduled for the certain days with everything paid for in advance with the special arrangements. Yep, there will be additional costs incurred here but a non-issue compared to millions of other dollars wasted in Congress.
Republicans will say it is against the Executive Order not to teleconference and they would lambast the president if he did it in this case - (President on vacation while Congress is stuck in Washington). Give the guy a break on such a small issue.

Another useless, absurd and pointless posting by the faaaaaarr right.....
Wonder if they were concerned about spending when Junior was blowing billions and billions looking for non-existent, imaginary WMD's.
Wonder if they were this concerned whenever Junior's daughters would fly to NY for a weekend of drinking, accompanied and protected by Secret Service agents, of course.
I'm guessing, 'prolly not..........

what I really wonder is there any capability of addressing an issue without reaching back in the past? Based on posts to date the obvious answer is no.
If you don't like the thread or disagree with it just say so or offer an alternative opinion or view point.
The constant need for Bushslapping is old and worn out and shows a lack of ability to deal with the here and now.
Just like in business, leaders lead by example. My dislike of Obama's choice to spend tax payers dollars in the face of appealing to others to do away with just such waste is the issue. The secret word here is leadership...does not exist.
And that opinion has nothing to do with left right or R or D or even the waaaaay right as some need and thrive on in order to respond.

Obviously, some posters are unable (or more likely, unwilling) to see the issue raised here, not to mention the utter hypocrisy being displayed.
If you didn't care how much money previous President's spent (wasted), why do you now all of a sudden care? It's also rather hilarious to say some are unable to deal with the here and now - when I have read posts complaining about Jimmy Carter - a guy who has been out of the scene for 30 years !!!!!
Yes, a POTUS is in a class by himself. He isn't like you or me. There isn't another person - or office - in the world that can compare to being President of The United States. The rules that govern our lives do NOT govern his.
The firm I am employed with has a rule about business flying - all busines trips are to be coach fare. However, the CEO of this company flies 1st class -and if he can't get a convenient flight he uses the company plane. I would venture a guess and say that is pretty much standard more most CEO's.

We talking about an extra $100,000 dollars being spent so as not to inconvenience the Queen of the United States and the two princesses on their plans to enjoy another vacation in Hawaii. If they go, fine, but it the gall of the extra expense at the taxpayers expense.

I suppose a little righteous indignation is harmless, but this sort of thing has gone on forever. There are plenty of justifiable reasons to oppose obama, but this is really not a valid one.

coralway, show me where I said this
"If you didn't care how much money previous President's spent (wasted), why do you now all of a sudden care?"
Save your time, I never said any such thing. As long as we do not have a time machine, there is nothing any of us can do about the past...it is done...it is over...we can only do something about the present.
I for one do not accept any wrong doing in the past as justification for doing it again....especially politicians (ANY of them).

Looks like the President is willing to forego his annual holiday vacation to get the tax cuts extended, along with unemployment benefits.
Likes like leadership to me....

yes memason he is setting the example. Which he should also do on the extra spending as he just directed everybody else to do. An acceptable alternative is for his family to wait until he can go too. There is no justifying separate planes to go to the same place as he has done in the past especially in light of his recent guidelines to curb travel expenses.
He is demonstrating for all the other 434 representatives in Washington that there can be an excuse to spend as usual.

Leadership means spending an extra $100,000 of taxpayer's money to send your family on ahead because you're held up a little late at the office?
Really?
I'm thinking Billy's got this about right.
