Morning all! We contracted PODS for our move to Sanibel as we left most furniture behind. Gave them our Sanibel address as given us by The Villages with a 32162 zip code. BIG MISTAKE. USPS has since corrected the zip to 32163 and I ,of course, made appropriate change to various places, such as bank, charge card, PODS. When we called last week to schedule delivery of POD from storage in Ocala, they said -NO, NO NO! Can't deliver from Ocala. Have to first transfer to ORLANDO and then deliver to Sanibel at an additional cost of $1,100 to us! Well we almost fainted. Then spent about 3 hrs of that day and some of the next TRYING TO make them understand that we did NOT MOVE the house farther away and that is was simply a zip code change!! COMMON SENSE HERE PEOPLE! It seems that only Orlando services the 32163 zip code (a franchise issue or something). The manager at Ocala (who should know The Villages) finally consented to deliver TO THE VERY SAME LOCATION for ONLY $200 more! Rather than do the right thing for the customer, PODS has chosen to take the low road! NOT VERY HAPPY WITH PODS AT THIS POINT and wanted new Sanibellians using PODS to be AWARE!

This STILL won't ruin our close on the 19th and delight to be here!;);)

This is not the first bad report I have heard on this forum about PODS

We used SAMS.I think that was from United Moving and Storage and they stored it in Cincinnati..where we are from and moved it from there..Right on time ...one hour after we closed. No issues. Pricey to store for three months, but you have to accept that.

Sweetie said he thinks they may have changed the name of their storage units recently and they may no longer be called SAMS.

They are all basically alike..the PODS and SAMS. PODS are lifted straight up and down and SAMS are slanted but nothing shifted or got broken and we had some mightily breakable stuff in there.

Press search above and do a search for PODS.

P.S. I am so angry FOR you about this scam. You should contact Crimes Against Seniors and let them know and also the national franchising office for PODS too.

Thanks, Gracie for your support. Never thought of Crimes Against Seniors but did get corporate address to write to when I get my printer back!
You are so kind, as usual!
