I was in last Monday at the Belvedere Branch and asked, since I am a new Nook user. I was told they are scheduled to get it this spring. I believe Lake County libraries have it - not sure if non-Lake County residents need to pay for a library card or not - possibly.

I had received a very vague answer when I phoned, it sounded more like the slow no, to me. Such a pity. as I have a Sony Reader I would use if I could download affordable material. As I am sight impaired, I have resorted to using magnifiers on a traditional book, .. sigh

Free Library of Philadelphia has ebooks. Library card is free if over 65 and you can apply for card online. Took about a week to get actual card in mail. (Don't have to have any connection to Philadelphia or PA.)

I went to Sumter Library, and they stated that the online E-Books would not be available thru them until sometime in the Spring. They said we couldd register at another library, (40 minutes away), and then use their e-books. When Sumter computers are set up in the Spring, you'll be able to get onto their site and download e-books. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the other library. You can calll Sumter, and they'll tell you. Trish

I appreciate all the helpful responses to my problem (getting E books). Lady Lake library offers the service for a fee, for non Lake residents. I'm not 65 so don't qualify for some of the other freebies yet. Duly noted for when I am eligible though.
