I was a first time patient of Dr. Luong today and what a wonderful dental practice she has. Not only was she the BEST dentist I have ever been too, her ENTIRE staff was top-notch!! I would highly recommend her... and that is saying a lot coming from a real 'dentist phobic' :):)

I am a patient of Dr Loung also. (Just started at the beginning of this year.) Normally I would run the other way from a place that has the word "spa" in it, on the assumption that it would be overpriced and gimmicky, but Dr. Loung took our insurance so I tried her.

I found out that the reason they call themselves a dental spa is because it is all about the comfort of the patient. I am "dentist phobic" too and this is the first time I have been able to have even a cleaning without using nitrous oxide. I don't know how they do it but everything is much more tolerable there. I have had two cleanings and two crowns this year with Dr. Luong. I'm very happy with the way my crowns fit. (Not so with some of the crowns I have had done in the past with my previous dentists up north.)

They make sure you are comfortable. Do you want a heated blanket? A neck pillow? One of those back massager pads while you are in the chair? After your procedure is over, they bring you a heated washcloth so you can wash off your face.

We just had open season with our healthcare so I asked them which plans they take. Here is the list: Ameritas, Principal, Cigna PPO, Delta Dental PPO & Premier, Guardian, Metlife, and United Healthcare.

Happy Holidays!

I too will sing the praises of Dr. Luong. As a man the idea of going to a "spa dentist" was not any easy decision. However, like all the people above I was delighted with Dr. Luong and her entire staff. I was made to feel comfortable and offered anything to make my stay as enjoyable. What was also interesting was that once in the procedure room I was never left alone. Someone was always present to discuss any concerns and answer questions.

I cannot recommend this office more highly.

I definitely think you will not be sorry if you go there. I NEVER thought in a million years that I would EVER be recommending a dentist....LOL,

Ditto, ditto. We have both seen Dr. Luong a couple of times and are crazy about her, the staff, the offices and that she doesn't try to "upsell" her patients unnecessary treatments as so many dentists are doing these days. Can't recommend her highly enough.

Also would like to mention, we don't have dental insurance and I thought she was VERY reasonable.

Have you looked into AARP's dental insurance? It's Delta Dental which is one of the ones Dr Luong takes. We had it several years ago when it first came out. (Switched when we were able to get a group plan.) The yearly max isn't very high but at least it would allow you to get the negotiated fee schedule.

Today was my third visit with Dr Luong and Even though I do not like to go to a dentist I am delighted with her and her staff! She charges $85 for a routine cleaning. I was paying $110 for the same service in Greenville NC 3 years ago!

Dr. Luong is totally unique among dentists. She does not deny that drilling pain is real and absolutely dreaded by most of us. She is excellent about stopping pain however possible, her manual dexterity and skills are phenomenal, and she is very kind.

There was a very negative, unsubstantiated, brief post from a first-time poster regarding Dr Luong. This person never came back to explain his accusation.

So, his negative post and several that referenced it will be deleted to preserve the integrity of this thread. The vast majority of comments about this Dr have been positive with facts and observations to back them up.

Thanks for your patience while we gave this person a chance to explain his comment.

I had a visit with Dr. Luong yesterday to have some dental work done. She was awesome and I can't recommend her enough. As a product of the 60's dentist horrors - she truly helped me overcome my fears and did a terrific job. Very efficient and quick. :BigApplause:

In case many of you don't know, Dr Luong is a Navy Veteran. Be sure to thank her for serving our country and is a one great dentist. Had our first appointment a week or so ago and will be going back for some additional work. Prices are reasonable and office is a pleasure to visit.

Based on the recommendations on this thread I made an appointment with Serenity Dentistry Spa to see Dr. Luong about a broken tooth.

Today the tooth was repaired and crowned. Dr. Luong did an great job and I was never more comfortable in a dental chair in my life.

She really runs a practice that is devoted to your comfort. From the beautiful decor, to the great refreshments available, to the pillow or blanket you may desire, you know your state of mind is on their mind.

I so glad to have found this wonderful dentist's practice, and her great staff. I think I've found a dentist who really cares about her patients; and now I won't have to settle for these "dental mills" that are so prevalent down here.

Sounds like a really wonderful dentist office. My question is how much does she charge for a crown? Is it one price or is there add ons like, posts and build-ups? I don't have insurance so it is out of my pocket. My experience with other Village dentists were not good and quoted one price and then when I was in the chair all ready to go they had a lot of "add ons".

The cost of my crown was less than a thousand dollars. If you need "core repair" it would have cost about $200 more.

I also have to pay all my dental "out of pocket".

I was advised of these costs, and "in the chair" I was informed that the "core repair" was not necessary and so that was very good.

A cleaning for a healthy mouth is only $85, so why don't you just make that appointment when you're ready for a cleaning, and that way you'll be able to check out the office, interact with the staff and meet Dr. Luong. You should be able to make a solid judgement after that.

Just had a bridge completed. Knew the price before I sat down in the chair, also it was reduced as I did not need posts or whatever else there was. Wonderful to deal with, up front and caring is the word from all her staff. We have become full time patients of her and hope that she stays in business for as long as we are around.

PS: Mike her assistant is as caring and does great work also.

Do you know if she uses digital xrays? If I want my records transferred, that's what my local dentist would provide.

Yes, she does. She's got the newest generation of digital dental tech, according to her fine dental assistant, Mike.
