Who are the spenders and who are the spending cutters again? I thought many here are committed to the conservative cause as the only way to fiscal sanity and real cuts to government spending? Now that five of the most conservative members of the Senate have announced that they intend to overturn about half of the $1.2 trillion in cuts that were made "automatic" when the super committee failed to accomplish anything. One of the five, Jon Kyle, was actually on the committee. Another, John McCain, carried the conservative banner in the last presidential election. And another is our own Senator Marco Rubio, who has been a annointed by some as a true fiscal conservative.

So they want to roll back any of the defense spending cuts that resulted from the super committee's whiff. How long will it take the Democrats to restore all the automatic cuts to social programs that are scheduled? All we can hope is that President Obama will do as he has said he would--veto any legislation which would overturn the automatic spending cuts that resulted from the super committee's failure.

So it turns out that they're ALL spenders in Washington. It makes no difference what party they belong to or what wonderful speeches they make or who claims to be conservative or progressive. They're all spenders, and for a country that desperately needs fiscal reform, the answer is even more crystal clear....throw them all out with the hope we can finally elect a Congress that will do what we all know is necessary.

You know it I know it and its time for some of our conservative friends to know it.....if cuts of any kind,of any amount happen in the area they represent they will be against them. Yell at the President all you want but the true villains are all 535 of Congress. As a group they are immoral, dishonest, and self-centered. I truly dispise all of them. One other rant....our defense budget already is as much as the rest of the world combined and has grown exponentially over the years. They get everything they want even if they don't want it. CUT IT!!!!!!

This is where Warren Buffet's recommendation ought to be taken seriously: "Pass a law that says any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election."

And then there is the Revolving Door between Congress and Lobbying Firms, and then the one to Former Lobbyists Now Employed by Congress, who outnumber elected members of Congress:

Nearly 5,400 former congressional staffers have left Capitol Hill to become federal lobbyists in the past 10 years, according to a new study that documents the extent of the revolving door between Congress and K Street.

The data published by the online disclosure site LegiStorm found close to 400 former U.S. lawmakers also have made the jump to lobbying....

.......The report, which tallies a greater number of workers moving between Congress and lobbying than found in previous studies, underscores the symbiotic relationship: Thousands of lobbyists are able to exploit experience and connections gleaned from working inside the legislative process, and lawmakers find in lobbyists a ready pool of experienced talent.....

...The study also documents the reverse movement, finding 605 former lobbyists who have taken jobs working for lawmakers in the past decade.

You're faulting conservatives for being pro-military and pro-defense?
